“no cell service and locked at night”
i called the local ranger office for info, they said there was cell service at the campground though you "might have to walk around a little." i have verizon and the entire area is a total dead zone and the roads are narrow, dark and confusing, and i saw a bunch of emergency vehicles on the way there looking for someone who drove off the road into a ditch so be cautious.
also it doesn't say on the website nor did the rangers tell me but they close and lock the gate at night (10pm to i'm not sure what time in the am) so when i arrived after hours of driving (at 10:30) i couldn't get in. eventually i found a day use area and pulled into the lot and slept there without incident.
it's pretty in the area but i would arrive during the day and have written directions in and out and a sat phone for emergencies.
