Campground Is temporarily CLOSED with gate/signs. We didn’t believe google Maps, but they were right. Hwy 71 south was very smooth pavement. As this was a very remote location, we decided to chance it and parked close to the sign. .

Only 13 mile south oof Rawlins. The “reservoir” is (at least in September 2022) not a likely fishing spot, and I would not attempt to swim or wade in it. Also keep our Lab out of it. Maybe just the time of year as the lake looked about 1/4 of what it would usually be. Again. no issue getting a space and I would be very surprised if there ever was. We elected a spot on the left overlooking the lake, before getting to the other campsites. They have picnic tables and there are very clean vault toilettes here. Incredibly quiet and peaceful, but the wind come u n the afternoon. very relaxing 3 day stay. Cell coverage is non extant except on the “hill” we stayed on - 2 bar Verizon.

We also got to view a full moon rise in the East. There were only two other campers in the place. The coyotes made noise all night and the morning sunrise was spectacular! The moon was still out so we stood in the road and took them both in.
I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful sunset and a great place to relax for one night as we were passing through Rawlins, WY.
There is a loop just off the entrance with 5 or so designated spots, however since we were alone we camped at the spot further around the lake by the boat launch. Great sunset and sunrise, lots of bugs in mid September probably due to the unseasonably warm temps still.
Vault toilet was very clean and the trash cans were empty with fresh bags in them.
We could make calls on the road in between the loop and boat launch but not enough signal to get data.
Would definitely stay here again during the week if passing through.

Teton reservoir is like the peace I’ve never seen! It was quiet, saw American white Pelicans, large cranes and heard coyotes in the distance. Sites are far between, clean and overlooking the water. No Verizon service. Dark sky areas brought out gorgeous stars and the Milky Way. Clean pit toilets.

We were headed south from Devil's Tower to Colorado NM and needed a place to sleep and I found this spot through Campendium. I did a quick search on the BLM site to confirm its location and we arrived in the early evening. The dirt road in is about 13 miles from Rawlins but is in good shape in the summertime (the BLM website says that it's impassable in the winter due to snow) and is an easy drive. There are a couple of day use parking areas that a few people decided to camp in although we used the actual campground since it had a picnic table and a great view. There are 5 total sites in the campground and number 5 is the biggest and best for travel trailers and RVs (40 foot total for us) with easy looped access. I suppose you could camp down by the reservoir itself but there was lots of waterfowl present in the lake and we didn't want to disturb them. The remaining 4 campsites are mainly for car/tent campers with spots 3 & 4 functioning almost as a double or group site. There are two vault toilets (one at the campground and the other down closer to the lake) which were pretty clean and stocked; the reservoir appeared to be pretty low compared to Apple satellite images, but there is a boat launch that can be accessed even at the perceived low lake level.
We stayed in early July and there was one additional campsite occupant, an RV staying by the south day use area, and another tent camper that pitched just outside the designated camping area. I would stay here again.

Pulled in around 7pm. There were 3 other campers with one down by the reservoir. We backed into the spot overlooking the reservoir. It was a nice, fairly level spot. Coyotes barking off in the distance and watching the sunset was awesome. Zero noise and light pollution. Two vault toilets in the area.

There were 2 other RV campers next to the lake but we had the best site in my opinion.

Only one other rig at the campground. We took the large site near the vault toilet. It was level and we didn’t need to unhitch. We didn’t take advantage of the nice picnic table as there was a very cold wind. The campground did look nice and would be fine for several days, especially if there are fish in that reservoir. Even though it was 15-20 minutes from the freeway, we thought the drive was worth it for the peace and quiet of the campground.

We stayed here one night in our 24ft travel trailer. There are 5 campsites in the campground area and space to camp by the water’s edge. We parked in the spot closest to the vault toilet (guessing that would be site 5). It was the largest and we were able to pull through and didn’t have to unhitch. The other sites are smaller and require backing in. There were two other tent campers in the campground area the night we stayed. All sites have a picnic table, fire ring and grill. There are 3 vault toilets at the reservoir, one for the campground, the others are nearer to the water and day use area. Some of the sites are not very level, but we managed to get level on the first try parking.
After you turn onto the BLM road the first left takes you down to the water’s edge. We saw one TT camped there. If you keep driving, the CG will be your first right. If you stay on the main road it will take you to the far side of the reservoir where we saw a couple of people tent camping. You could probably park a trailer there too.
It’s a bit of a ways off the highway, but worth the 20 minute drive and the 3/4 mile rough gravel BLM road to get there. So quiet and peaceful. We could even hear the coyotes late at night.

“Closed June 1, 2023”
noted 6/1/2023
There were no signs explaining why there was a closure or for how long.
All I know is that June 1, 2023, it was closed.
We drove North (less than 1 mile) and parked on Bridget Pass Rd BLM. Nice area, not many spots to park but we’re able to get a spot right on Little Sage Creek Dam.
