Overall Rating
The site we selected (#9) was perfect for our rig - a 30 foot trailer - and still provided ample room to park and set up a gazebo. Picnic table and fire rings are included with each site, but no electric or other hookups are available. Site 9 is adjacent to the Temperance River via a short trail to the shore where beautiful sunsets can be seen. Highway 2 to the campground is paved except for the last 50 yards or so, a bonus in this part of Minnesota. For being a rustic campground, this is a great spot to get away from it all. At the intersection of Highway 61 and 2 in Tofte, there is a general store and liquor store for all your camping needs. Please note, there is no cell service once you turn toward the campground on Highway 2 beyond Tofte, so plan ahead.
