$23 without electricity & $28 with… Very Basic Camping… No drinking water at campground but a couple of 25 cents fill stations…
Yo-Adrien would stay here again

This is third year we’ve stayed here. By March it’s not real busy. Sites have electric only. As mentioned before, there is no potable water in town. (But, see below.) Skin feels better than ever after first shower though, and hot water never runs out. There is no cell at all in town. You can find Verizon cell service a few miles out of town. Take road to China Ranch, you can either keep going past the driveway to China ranch and you will run into cell service, or take driveway a short way and stop in front of fresh water! dispenser. Yes, water in the desert. Bring your own containers. Not expensive. Raises money for fire department. If you go past driveway a couple of miles you will see a gate for a stretch of pavement on your right, then another gate. Turn right at second gate and follow two track. Don’t go real fast as you could do a Thelma and Louise! Just look for electric pole and stop. Beautiful view of Canyon you would never suspect is there. Best cell signal there.
China ranch is a date farm and they sell products created with dates that are delicious. Don’t miss the date shake! To be really decadent, have a date cookie with it! There are also wonderful hiking trails which are free. Don’t miss the date bread! Never thought I liked dates!
Drink beer? Don’t miss Death Valley Brewery in town. Great beer micro brewed. Also a Speakeasy for harder stuff. For steaks you would only think to find in a big city, there is Steak and Beer restaurant.
Free live entertainment across the road (weather permitting) at pavilion on Friday and Saturday nites.
Kilroy would stay here again

We phoned to see if we needed reservations and to see what might be there for amenities. We have no problem with power only as we are typically boondockers. I’m not sure if this place is worn out or everything in the area is like this but no plans to return.

Facilities are simple but clean. The price includes access to the hot springs which is a great deal since there is no water or sewage hookup.
Bring lots of drinking water since there is none in town.
There is a sani dump but no water. We have prepaid Att but no signal.
Wifi is available at the community Center next door. This place is special but ideal for hiking and biking.
