“OK, but not "OMG I MUST RETURN" spectacular”

Reviewed Jul 11, 2017

OK, let me be the lone dissenter from all the "wonderful" 4 and 5 star reviews... I was staying here at the same time as RV Chickadee (below review) and she's got all the details about the place, so I won't ramble. I'll just say that I wasn't as impressed with the place (at least the upper section) as everyone else. We spent one ... more

“Relaxing”

Nice camping area not far away from West Yellowstone. Entrance road cuts through a rolling field with several spots for big rigs to park. As you head back towRds trailhead and river, the road becomes much narrower. Peaceful place.

“Fabulous!”

Reviewed Jun 27, 2017

Beautiful view of the mountains, easy access to trails, quiet, pretty and very green with tons of flowers while we were there. This is a trail head so people park here to take the trail but they were quiet and some very interesting. One guy brought 2 llamas to take on the trail, others horses, so met a lot of interesting people. Thos... more

“Small but decent view and spot for hitting Yellowstone”

Reviewed Jun 24, 2017

Overall Rating

As previously mentioned, the turnoff can come up fast for you. There's no sign marking it if you are heading south, and it's kind of tough to see if you are heading north, and it's on a curve to the right. The road in is a rocky road at times. There are some deeper tracks at one spot but if it's dry, you will be fine. If it's wet, ... more

“Beautiful near west yellowstone”

Reviewed Jun 13, 2017

Overall Rating

Beautiful spot, but can be very busy with the trail head near by. Cellular data seemed throttled at times probably due to Yellowstone visitors overloading the network, but worked well most of the time. Road is somewhat bumpy and wouldn't fit anything larger than 30ft unless you stayed near the first few hounded yards of the nationa... more

Large grassy area, we used a tent but there was one other RV there as well. Road was bumpy but our Civic handled it well.

“Spacious and free near Yellowstone.”

BLM & National Forest free dispersed camping right off Hwy 20. The first half mile of road is BLM land with a couple of site options that can fit RV and/or horse trailers (14 day limit). There is a trailhead parking lot where we noticed some tent campers staying there (from here on you're in USFS - 16 day limit). Drive just further to ... more
