We stayed here June 30- July 5, 2022. Great National Forrest campground close to a lot of things to see. We visited Four Corners, Mesa Verde, and Durango for July 4th. We were going to go to Canyon of the Ancients but it rained so we spent a nice day reading in the trailer. Very clean campground with water available (no electric or dump). Dump is 8 miles down the road in Durango and free at a gas station. No showers, but we use our own anyway. Pit toilets are cleaned daily by a friendly and attentive host. Most sites seem pretty level and several will hold big rigs. I enjoy these campgrounds more than RV parks, but the wife likes the RV parks so we stay there mostly. So this was a great stop for me. Love being in the forest. I didn't notice much highway noise as you are a little ways off the highway and up the hill. Overall, great place!

Target Tree is a well laid out, quiet place to camp. The area is beautiful. The host was top notch. Blaine was very friendly and helpful in getting me settled. The campsites are well cared for and the whole area was kept clean and inviting. The dumpster and water stations were also easy to access. The restrooms were sanitized twice daily which is a big plus for me. They also have wood for sale for the fire rings. The overall experience was peaceful and relaxing. One of the best kept campgrounds I’ve been to! I plan to make this one of my annual camping spots! Even though the rate is $22.00, with my senior pass I paid $11.00.

We had no problem maneuvering our 35’ fifth wheel to our site. Solar was good during the mid-day, but be forewarned, there are plenty of tall trees.

They don't allow you to fill up on water at the spigots dispersed around the campground even if you offer to pay the day use fee despite a lack of posted signage.

Tried stopping here on Oct 17 and there is a closed gate across the entrance. I did not expect it to be officially open, but I was not sure if it would still be available for boondocking. No such luck. Fortunately, Madden Peak Road is only about a half mile away and had several spots available which can handle larger trailers.

We had a nice camp spot with lots of space to spread out. The campground was full but you would not have known because the other campers were very quiet and private. Bathrooms were clean. Host was kind. Only negative is the road noise from hwy 160. Labor Day weekend is also four corners bike rally which created ALOT of noise.

T-mobile is a wash and has no service. Sites are large, private, and there are ample water spigots throughout the A loop (non group camping). Our site had two tent pads, one being raised, and a long rv pad where our 25’ fit perfectly with little level adjustments. Could also fit our truck without blocking traffic. Would highly recommend if in the Durango area for a step away from the city, but not cut off from it!

This campground was on a great location to access Mancos, Mesa Verde, and Durango. We stayed here for one night on our way to Durango and were surprised we were so close to Mesa Verde National Park. We did a quick trip through Mesa Verde, but the park is cool and I would visit again to explore more of it. The site we had was small but all we needed for a quick overnight. Very wooded, with some hiking trails from the campground.
