“Nice Spot, Bad Road”

We scouted this spot in our truck on our way to the Lava Tube trailhead. It's a very nice area, but be prepared for a heavily washboarded and uneven road. Clearance is not really a concern, but we would not consider taking our trailer down this road. There is decent room to maneuver when you get to the camping spot, but no opportunity to turn around on the road without driving into the fragile desert.

Incidentally, it took us about 40 minutes to drive this road from the main road to the Lave Tube trailhead. We got passed by Subarus going twice as fast. This road is just not well-suited to HD trucks.

Stopped here with my teardrop trailer after hiking the lava tube. Room on either side of the fences. Had good enough 4G to stream video.
