Our site was very close to the nice clean bath house. the site was fairly level but the site are all close together. There are several great hikes here with some right from the campground. Lots of stairs on some hikes to the bottom of the gorge.

After four nights at campground never saw the host.
Site only had a cursory cleaning. There were a lot of food wrappers, bottle caps etc around the small site. Bathrooms were fine. Showers were hit but not a lot of pressure.
Best aspect of the Park is the trail system. Several interconnecting trails. Ones along the Gorge are crowded, but once away, there’s some peace and quiet.

Finding a good spot to park it was a challenge. The hookups are at the far end corner of the site. We tried putting the camper part way back but the stairs couldn’t come out because they would hit the cement picnic table. Too far forward seemed unlevel, so we just put the camper back as far as it would go, a bit askew and lived with the fact that the front of the trailer was about 18” from the picnic table.
The campground was glorious with fall foliage!! As was the entire area. We did lots of great hikes in a 1.5 hr radius. We were just back most nights for dinner.
Most sites seemed quite narrow with similar issues with the darn immovable cement tables too close to the campers.
Across from us at 5 &6 they had their trucks up over 6” to get level.
Overall a nice place to use for exploring the surrounding area. Not enough space and privacy in most of the spots for me to enjoy the campsite all day long.

Hiking at Tallulah Gorge was amazing. Many falls to see. Hiking to base of falls requires 1062 stairs. We were here mid week in May. Weather was perfect and crowds low. Campground not full. Access to campground right off highway. Campground roads are narrow and windy. Our premium pull thru site #40 was easily accessed from road but very narrow. It sloped at from and back giving minimal “level” area to put 35’ 5er. Even using all of our leveling blocks it was still hard to get camper level but we finally managed. Left slide out was about 9” from tree and right slide was over edge of unmovable concrete picnic table bench making that side inaccessible. Many of the back in sites like much roomier. I would suggest choosing one of those. .

Camp site was clean and thought the overall site was very well managed. Bathrooms and showers were well maintained. The couple that managed the place were friendly and informative. This camp site is better than numerous places that I’ve visited at many National and State Parks. If this represents the rest of Georgia, thumbs up and keep up the great work. We stayed in 2 tents and my only ding is the campsite was heavily slopped, making tent camping a challenge. Tallulah Gorge is a great state park. We hiked the entire gorge and would recommend it.

The roads in the campground are narrow for larger rigs.
One worthy note the water comes out smelling like bleach and would on and off again look like muddy water. We had bottled water to drink but now I will have to sanitize my water system.

Huge rigs managed to squeeze themselves into this old small campground. Site 12 was spacious but road noise more apparent there. Didn’t use the showers which were old school crappy looking. Trails were nice.

There was quite a variation among the sites, so know what you’re getting. Also, apparently on M-Th there is no one to check you in and we had to go to the visitors center, which is a mile away and was quite crowded. Not great when pulling a trailer.
