Gunnison is cute town, University here, has good restaurants, shopping and Fly Fishing outfitters. I highly recommend Three Rivers Outfitters in Almont. Definitely will return from North Carolina!

Owner Bob has been made obvious improvements and unlike many private campground, they gave us our privacy. 2 miles into Gunnison but super quiet. Super fast internet, very clean, our pooch is perfect off leash and no one said anything about it, cute little pond, nice play ground for kids, lots of tall trees with shade. Very nice place, you’ll love it here! Sites are very close together but early in the season so we don’t have neighbors.

This campground is about 2 miles north of main street in Gunnison. Easy to get to and the bike/walking trail runs along the main street which is a 1/2 mile walk from the campground entrance. The kids enjoyed walking to the river and watching rafters go by.
The sites themselves were well kept and level. Hookups were fairly easy to get to and no awkward configurations that we saw. The cottonwood trees were shedding during our stay so there was "cotton" everywhere. If you have allergies, don't go during the end of June!
The campground also has tent camping sites and several small cabins which were very nice. Our parents came to visit while we were there and the cabins were clean, cozy and had all the amenities.
We highly recommend asking for sites in the 80s and 90s. They are at the far end of the campground and very quiet and secluded. Site 84 has a fire ring which the others did not. Site 88.5 was also right next to the small pond with a large grassy area.
This area is a bit north of town which is great if you want to make any treks up to Crested Butte. We wished we hd longer but it is hard not to like Gunnison and all there is to do in the surrounding area.
We had good LTE there of 3-4 bars and were able to stream movies and search the internet with ease.

The owner is in the process of selling the place, but as long as he is in charge, you are in for a great place to stay!
The spot we got was probably the best in the entire camp. I noticed the others were a lot closer to their neighbors and if I had one of those spots, I might give it a 4 star, but it was a great place and we enjoyed it a lot!

The park is divided in two. One-half is set up like a typical commercial park with rows of RVs parked next to each other. This side also has cable. The other side is more randomized set around a pond (no cable). We had a spot 81 around the pond which was evidently a coveted spot by some of the seasonals who commented on it as they picked out their spots for next year. It was a nice spot because you are facing the pond and have a large yard.
The campground is fairly quiet and has a good amount of trees. The laundry room is clean and affordable. ATT and Verizon flucuated between 2-3 bars, but was a bit slow.
It's very quick to get into Gunnison and being on the north side is fairly convenient to Crested Butte also. Most of the other campgrounds in the area are on the west side of Gunnsion making for a longer drive to Crested Butte. Gunnison has a couple of grocery stores, lots of restaurants and shopping. Crested Butte is extremely picturesque.
