We stayed here in August of 2023 for two nights and had reserved site #72. The check in female was very kind as well as the female in the general store and the young female ranger. Check in is on one side of the road, then the CG is on the other - a bit wonky to find it, but we figured out how to get there. Map isn't quite to scale (not that they ever are). Our site was easy enough to back in to, but harder to level than normal. We ended up being slanted even though we were up high on our Andersen Levelers. I walked our loop - many of the sites are eroded and in need of gravel fill. The sites really need some work, some need to be scraped and a lot of them need a bunch of gravel fill. It was 95 degrees plus, so we didn't get to hike or explore the park. Not sure what is close - lots of helicopter noise - that didn't bother me, just was curious.

The lady at the check in desk at the visitors center was very nice. We stayed in the Mountain Laurel site and it was a little tight with our 22’ trailer and not very level. The sites are seemed moderately washed out. The part for me that was the most discouraging was the people across from us had multiple off leash dogs who repeatedly ran out at our truck, as well as others. We got our camper with the intention of bringing our dogs and with these dogs running around the campground I wasn’t comfortable walking them around.

With no sewer connection, we used their comfort stations for hygiene. The showers are OK, except one of the two men's showers doesn't have a working cold water valve. That was OK because the hot water was not burning hot.
We got no signal for T-Mobile and Verizon, but there WiFi was very workable, even for video conferencing.
Note that the headquarters where you can check in is not the same location as the campground. Untrimmed trees on the way to the headquarters scraped our roof.
They also have a single working washing machine and dryer, free of charge.

Camped here over a 4th of July and it was amazing. The hikes are great for the family with a wading pool at the bottom after 10 miles. Clean bathrooms and camp sites. Easy access to an amazing little donut shop down the road which was fun to build.

Beautiful park! Beautiful Lake (although there was a scum on the top of it). We kayaked around it and the sites from the kayak were awesome! The park itself is well maintained and beautiful. The campground has 2 loops. We stayed in what was the quieter of the 2, White Oaks Loop. Our site was 93. It was a pull-thru. We did have to level on one side. We were next to the camp host whom was awesome. There is no Wi-Fi anywhere in the park and you can only get a couple local TV channels on the TV. You could hear the creek behind us in the woods in the mornings. We took the Carrick Trail and it was beautiful with lots of small waterfalls. 1.9 miles. Some sites looked small and unlevel. Ours was fine. Nice park.... I would stay again!

Beautiful park with one of the best hikes we’ve done in the Southeast. The park itself is very cute with varied site quality. There are two campgrounds: White Oaks and Mountain Laurel. White Oaks is described by many as more quiet but driving by revealed small sites with little privacy and right on the road. Mtn Laurel was much bigger with some horrible sites and some great ones.
Worst: 1-8: tiny, on top of each other, on the road, zero privacy, zero area to chill, very far from restrooms. Almost like a dirt parking lot.
Best: 30-53: private, well shaded, spacious. Best ones are the one on the outside of the loop like 40, which was ours and was great.
Others, you can see on map, are small and close to each other, with varying degrees of privacy.
Lake is pretty, with mountain views, but the various waterfall pools more fun for a dip.
The Table Rock Trail is strenuous but has some of the most gorgeous views we’ve ever seen in the south. Up and back is about 7 hard miles, especially in the way up so start it before it gets hot and take plenty of water.

White oaks campground has Verizon service throughout 4G and ATT service strong enough to work (2 bars) in the high 90s sites.
This campground is quite a ways from the trailhead but has fantastic bath house and was quiet throughout my stay.

Drive down hill to beach and mountain hiking. Good AT&T cell (two bars) and wifi. Free laundry at General Store and good park supplied wifi there.

Managed to get a decent Verizon signal using hotspot rather than phone, and had service the whole time. Campground store has free wifi, but it doesn't broadcast outside the area of the store.
