“Beautiful Place, Smelly”

What a lovely campground. Neighborhood not that sketchy, but yes, run down. The bathrooms were very nice, but could use a bit more cleaning. The showers were HUGE! Took a bit for the water to get hot, the shower handle fell off as well, but still usable. We REALLY needed to use the washing machines, but all of them were broken. Frustrating. The wind changed and we got the full force of the sewage treatment plant next door. Hubby can’t smell well so it didn’t bother him. It made me sick. Doubt we will ever stay here again. Then the cost, $5 reservation fee, on top of the $29, on top of the taxes….

I totaly agree with the previous review. The paint was peeling in the showers Looked like they had not been cleaned for a while. The whole place needs a lot of TLC. It's a shame because it's a nice spot. One entrans on the west side wàs closed due to storm damage. One site had a big tree come down on the site and bent one end of the picnic table. We got a call the night before coming to see if we would be willing to take a back in site as they had a Class A that could not back up.
The trail near the campground needs work as well. One dangerous bridge. Feels like a jungle. Lots of poison ivy and mosquitoes.

We stayed here for one night as an overnight stop. We had reservations. The park emailed me to say they had changed my reserved site due to damage in the site. 5 Stars for that. When we arrived, we noticed that we could choose and open site without a placard, so we decided to try a pull through rather than the back in. After we had our trailer all setup, the electrical failed to turn on. We moved to another site. We were going to test the electrical first. While there, another camper informed us he had tried that site and his electrical management/surge protector had informed him it had reversed polarity. He suggested looking for a site with newer electrical boxes(gray vs green). We found another open back in site and had success there. The campground itself had spacious sites. The bathrooms did not pass my personal cleanliness test. They didn’t do much look dirty or smelly as run down and were most of the reason for the 3 star review. We were close enough to the city to go out enjoy BBQ, get fuel, and groceries. The road in an out was a bumpy ride through an industrial area. But the park itself was beautiful. This is the view from our site. Site 43. There was a dump station available, but we did not use. It was accessed by going around the campground loop. It was on the left after the last site as you exited the campground.
Amy would use this facility again
