First of all, the price is unbeatable! Then add in the splash pad and playground for kiddos, plenty of roads to bike on, the exercise trail, and regular trails--the value is incredible.
The spot itself had an oversized picnic bench, fire pit and privacy hedging. It was clean when we arrived and we could tell the staff had even raked the dirt area.
The ONLY downside, is that the area was plagued with sugar ants. The staff had already put ant powder down around the entire site upon arrival, which worked for about 3 days, and then we had to mitigate it ourselves. But again, that's the ONLY negative to this park!!

A great spot! There are basically two sections. The lower section is older. A few more trees but not woodsy. These sites have electric and water hookups but no sewer. There is, however, a dumpstation on site. Sites in this section might take a little more work to level your RV. We saw some class As, so length shouldn't be an issue in most sites. The upper section looks newer and has full hookups ( E,W,S). Sites are close to level and long. Lots of chaparral and coastal sage scrub, but no trees. The upper section had a nice breeze and views. The splash pad is fun and an easy ealk from either section.
The outer loops might get a tiny bit of freeway noise, especially in the lower section. It is also under the flight path, so there is a faint plane noise occasionally. Not at all bad.
Overall we loved it and can't wait to go back.

We spent two weeks at Sweetwater Summit while exploring the San Diego area. We really enjoyed our stay! Our site was a level concrete pad with a picnic table and firepit/grill. We had a full hook-up site with 50 amp electric, water and sewer. The water pressure was fine and the water had a good taste. We have a fully contained unit so we don't use the restrooms so I cannot comment on those. The campground sits up on a hill overlooking the town of Bonita with mountains in the distance. There is light freeway noise and airplane noise, but nothing really loud. There are several hiking/riding/bicycling trails that run through the campground. The Bonita area caters to horses so several campsite have corrals for horses right at the site. It only took about 30 minutes to get to downtown San Diego and also to the San Diego Zoo/Balboa park area. Everyone that worked at the campground was friendly and polite. I work remotely from our RV and I had no problem getting a solid ATT or Verizon signal strong enough to run Zoom meetings and multiple softwares. Close to lots of local shops, stores, churches and a really good donut shop (K-T Donuts)!

My site was large and private with electric and water. Most sites are pull through. Bathroom was clean and modern. Only complaint is that they are not heated and it was quite chilly. Nice walking trails. Easy to get into downtown San Diego. Due to renovation many sites were closed.

Even though it's in the county system--which has strict stay limits--it seems as if there are several people who are long-term residents (with no indication that any of them are hosts). Many campsites looked dirty and trashy, and had one or more of those storage units you can pick up at a big box store, and one even had an old refrigerator just hanging out in the driveway. Multiple vehicles, boats, and junk scattered around. Lots of people driving very fast through the small, winding, narrow roads between campsites. Noisy in the evening. Not a lot of space between sites, and not a lot of considerate campers. And not a lot of green space to walk, or walk pets.
If you need a full hook up and don't mind all of the above disappointments I guess it would be OK for you to stay here. Otherwise, no.

There are a number of hiking trails within the campground and the park does offer Golf nearby. Sites 60 and above are the best as the sites are newer and larger. They are up on a hill and offer a great view of the area. Our site was one of the pull-through and had full hook ups. It was very large (over 60’ long) and was well spaced between neighboring sites. Our site was full hook-ups. The only down side was it is on the approach path to San Diego airport, but the planes stoped around 9 PM.

This facility is clean and the campers are quiet for the most part. The majority of noise comes from the jets on final approach to San Diego International which is perhaps 12 miles away (the jets are on the final leg and are using lower power - but this goes on from roughly 6a to 11p with some large gaps and some continuous landings). It is loud, but not overwhelming. If you want silence, this isn’t the place for you.
Only negative here is the aggressive ants. They are tenacious and find the weakness of your defenses. Take advantage of the park staff mitigation efforts - they will place diatomaceous earth around your site’s contact points to attempt to thwart the invasion.
The park is easy to navigate. Almost all pull through sites. Fire rings are available for bought on site wood fires or charcoal cooking. Showers and restrooms are nearby.
In short, this campground is comfortable, easy to move about and quiet other than the landing aircraft.
We plan to return here as the pluses out weigh the minuses.
