It looks to me like this is camping under power lines...BIG power lines...is that so? Or how far away.

The GPS routing on this link takes you to the spot where another reviewer observed power lines, but there are plenty of other spots to camp before and after this one so start looking for the signs and driveways to the campsites once you get off the freeway.
There were maybe four other parties camping, felt totally safe here alone.

Very easy access for our 40 foot fifth wheel, mostly level spots and a great little lake. The only negative was there is some freeway noise but it’s not terrible. Free spots like this are getting harder and harder to find, please keep it clean!

Beautiful and convenient dry camping right off interstate 94. Level spots that are mowed with fire ring and picnic table. This area can accommodate a fair amount of campers. Only 2 others on a Wednesday night. If you have an RV don't drive on the lake road before the first and second entrance because of low branches. We biked it and had to duck. It is not a big deal to go back to main road which is only one tenth of a mile. We did not give this spot 5 stars because some sites have a lot of goose poop. There is some noise from the highway and a high voltage line ( we were right under it) but you could not hear either in camper. Bugs were really not bad even though we were by water. In summary, a really great free travel spot with views and peace. No water or dump station. Only 2 hours going west to Theodore National Park if you are headed that way.

We arrived in the evening with our 40 ft motor home. Sites are spread out around the lake. No one else was around. Some noise from the highway but the view was so worth it! Birds chirping and fish splashing. We will definitely be back.

Arrived around 5:30pm July 3rd expecting the campsite to be full of folks camping over the holiday weekend. Was surprised to find a great selection of open sites! The sites have picnic tables & fire rings and are nicely spaced apart from one another. The view was spectacular which made for a very pleasant overnight stay. It did rain most of the day so there were very little to no bugs to worry about. However, if you get a site right along the lake I can imagine bugs would be an issue. Plus, if you forget firewood, there’s plenty of trees around the grounds with downed branches that can be gathered. Don’t second guess this site if you’re traveling I94! It’s beautiful, it’s quite, and it’s FREE!

Limit 10 days. Several campers abuse rules by just leaving their rig on site. My neighbors ran there generator 24x7 for 4 days. Finally peaceful when they left. Winds were up to 70 mph gusts while I was here and severe thunderstorms. Roads can get difficult especially when it’s just dirt and no gravel at spots. Geese hang here and raise their goslings to prepare for flight. They are very interesting to watch. Best spots are on the lake imo. I will definitely be back. Nice place to kick back and relax
T mobile 1 bar but workable on most needs. Monday crews come out and dump trash and power wash pit toilet areas. Lake power boats are idle only speed. Again abuse on Sunday

We found our spot after taking the second entrance off the main road from the freeway exit. There is a bathroom, picnic shelter, fire pits, and a small playground. We were the only ones there but it was May 1! It was beautiful and quiet and we loved our stay!
