The rec area sits right along the Green River and you're treated to the sound of the rushing water all day long. There are some beaches but the water was running pretty fast in the spring.

Lovely spot to relax and spend at least 1 night. Wade at the beach, or launch a boat into the Green River. Great breeze & water make 90 degrees seem cool. Clean restroom, well-stocked with TP. $7.50 is the rate with Senior Pass. A bit of a drive off main highway, but easy trip in.

Our kids enjoyed throwing rocks in the river and exploring the wash where we saw wildlife (foxes, rabbits and lots of lizards! Campsite #11 has its own sandy white beach front! The best campsite as it is secluded from the other campsites! Wish we could of spent more time here! I would think this place would be busy in the summer with locals as there is a beach there before the campsites! Also, the direction told us to turn on private property when we should of just kept going straight.

This place is called Swasey Campground and it is located just beyond Swasey Beach, which is a day use area on the Green River, part of Lower Gray Canyon Recreation Area. Our rig was too big to fit in sites 3-12 so we parked in a broad relatively flat area adjacent to Site 1, which is designated as a Group Site. There was a nice breeze and we were in the shade of some big cottonwood trees. The river is running high and you can hear the water running - very peaceful. There were 3 other sites occupied when we arrived on a Tuesday afternoon. After you get off I-70 at Exit 164 and drive a ways to reach civilization (a hotel etc.) take Hastings Road, which is a right turn . Follow for about 10 miles; you can see the beach once the pavement stops. The road was a little rough but we just went slow. The restrooms are vault toilets. We have a Golden Age Pass - the regular fee is $10 per night.

Even if you aren't into rafting, SUP or kayaking the river, this is a great camp. Camping right by the rapids. Sandy beach gets used heavily on weekends by local crowds.
The voice and data service are minimal but we were able to connect (barely) with a cell extender

This was easy to get to off of Highway 70 near Green River. It's a paved road except for the last 1/2 mile or so but the dirt road is smooth. We loved the nearby sound of the River and the stark beauty of the area. It seems to fill up with locals near the weekend but we had no problem finding a site mid week.

Dry camping among cottonwoods, by the Green River, surrounded by buttes and cliffs. Nine miles north of town. Rafters and kayakers use the boat ramp, locals tend to use the beach. Sites 1 and 2 are walk-in group tent sites, and site 12 is a drive-in group site, but non-groups occasionally use them. The rest of the sites tend toward the small side, but some can accommodate mid-sized rigs. If not being used by a group, site 12 is large enough for a fleet of Class A's. The sound of the rapids is either relaxing white noise or an annoyance, depending on the person. I really liked this place and would have stayed longer if I hadn't already had other plans.
