Even after the sun went down, it stayed pretty warm for a few hours. It wasn’t until the middle of the night when it dropped to the 70s. Seems like a great place for people who want to float the river though or for those who don’t mind the heat! Also I will say sleeping with the roaring river next to you was extremely peaceful.

This is a sweet little BLM Campground along the Green River just north of Green River on Hastings Road. There was plenty of shade and sun so I could put out my solar panels. The river was running fast and high while I was there. I would highly recommend this campsite to anyone interested in boon docking in a campground with fire pits and picnic tables.
Thing to be aware of:
1. There are rough spots on Hastings Road, when the sign says reduce speed - YOU SHOULD. there are spot where the road undulates significantly.
2. My navigation program (RV Trip Wizard) had me make a left turn at some point. This was an error you do not need to make any turns off of Hastings Road. (I have reported the error to RV Life)
3. Pit toilets only and not water or dump station.

Stayed at #10, could’ve stayed a couple of days; but temperature was too hot. 90 degrees, probably dropped down to 75 at night! We were right by the rapids, sound was awesome, view was stunning, quiet. Not full. Would love to come a different time of year! No cell service.

3 NATIONAL PARKS IN 3 DAYS!! This location is accessible, free of madness and about 30min (led foot) from Arches NP. The sound of the Green River and view of the mountain tops is to die for. Enjoy your time, the quite safe will set your soul FREE!!

Second time I have stayed here
There are dispersed camping spots further up the road
The further you go, the worse the road gets
None of the dispersed free camping sites have the shade and the easy access to the warm water that this campground offers

We stayed here for two nights, mid week, while visiting Arches National Park, in early October, 2020.
We had not made any camping reservations, and found that RV parks and campgrounds near Moab were all booked, and had been booked solid for weeks, during this pandemic camping boom.
We thought we might try stopping here, and were very happy to find about half the sites to pick from, arriving in the mid afternoon on a weekday.
We tucked our 26' Airstream in site #6, which was just big enough. It was fairly level, but it did back up to some other sites, so not the most private. It was SHADY, which was a wonderful thing in hot Utah. And, the sound of the rushing river just a few yards away was wonderful.
One concern - the trees surrounding the central campsites have a lot of dead limbs up higher - would not want to stay here on a windy night. And, like the rest of Utah, it's pretty dusty.
The sunrise on the surrounding towering rock is beautiful.
This is also known as Swasey Beach, and it is located 8 miles north of Green River. The paved road ends at the boat launch there, and the campground is just a quarter-mile further, over a gravel road in fair repair. Just take it slow.
No services, very limited cell phone service - perfect! There are a couple of pit toilets. We did not see any staff come to clean or restock the toilets while we were there.
We did have some dust from the gravel road, as a local farmer was shuttling cattle in his trailer all afternoon, until dark.
The drive to Arches National Park wasn't bad, and we were able to arrive early enough to find some parking by leaving the campground before sunrise.
We were very happy to have found the spot, as the BLM spots along the route to Arches looked wide open, no shade, and were pretty full, as we drove into the park for the day.
We'll definitely consider staying again, if our travel plans find us in the area.

This was home base for us during out visits to MOAB. The park campgrounds were packed and there was allot of road construction that made it very hard to move through the town of Moab. We decided to set up camp right along the Green River. The site was roomy we could get two cars parked as well as our trailer. The site was mostly level however it was a little unclear which way was the entrance to the sites and which was the exit. I entered accidentally from the exit and it was a little tricky to get the whole trailer turned around and angled into the spot. However, we got it done and had a nice seat right next to the river. When we arrived the site was empty we shared with 3 other campers. By the time we left there were no spots available. This is a great place to raft or just relax along the river.

The river was huge and fast-moving, and the only thing we heard all night. The surrounding rocks were majestic and all neighbors were very friendly. Absolutely stay here if you can... we loved it!

We stayed here on a Saturday night, Sept. 14. We visited the Powell Museum in Green River and the lady who worked there told us we would love this campground. It was a little farther out than we planned to go but she convinced us it was worth the drive. It was! After being on 70 for a few hours it was nice to get on a country road again and look at the farms along the way to the campground. There was a very noisy group of teens along the river in the group area but they quieted down and all we heard in the evening and overnight was the river. Clean bathrooms. Beautiful views of the river and cliffs.
