“Very nice Campground”

Reviewed Jun 14, 2018

Overall Rating

As others have stated, this is a very nice campground that would typically cost at least $20 per day. If they had showers it would be even more amazing. Although most site pads are fairly short, I was able to fit my 35' overall rig in sites 2 and 16. During my stay, 90 percent of the campers arrived early evening and departed early... more

“ Beautiful campground run by the MPS and the Navajo nation ”

Reviewed May 06, 2018

Overall Rating

I really love this campground most of the sites are Doublewide so that you can park a rig and a toad next to each other and some of them are big enough for my 26 foot Winnebago and my toad or I could even park my truck camper next to the Winnebago on this one There are sometimes guided tours taking you down into the canyon to and o... more

I am so glad I took the extra time and distance to come 9 miles off the main road that I was traveling to come to this campsite it is beautiful short trees so none of them interfere with solar and many things to do as far as exploration there’s mountains and canyons that you can go in on the very nice and quiet campsite at the nationa... more

“Beautiful Campground! ”

Reviewed May 04, 2018

Overall Rating

We were here in March 2018 and arrived shortly before dark in snowy weather. The campground was pretty full and as a previous review said, most of the campsites are for tents and small RVs. Our travel trailer is 31' and we drove around the campground twice before pulling our total 51' of truck and trailer into a parallel to the road ... more

“Great, free campsite!”

Reviewed Apr 29, 2018

We saw 31 sites here. The signs indicate the maximum RV length is 28’. We are 30’ and based on reviews gave it a try. Out of the 31 sites, there are probably about one-quarter that would work for a 28’ rig. The rest of the sites are very small and are either tent sites or very small RV sites. Out of the few that a can fit a 28’ th... more

“Such an awesome place!”

Reviewed Apr 05, 2018

We had the best campsite in the campground because it was the highest spot that was level with an amazing view. This place was a gem and we still can’t believe the campground is free! We really enjoyed the visitor’s center and basically lived there during our visit. We were also invited on a 4 hour tour with a Navajo guide to see Betat... more

“Spotty Internet for Remote Work, Great Views”

Reviewed Mar 21, 2018

I don’t have much to add to the other reviews here aside from some personal experience with the cell signal in this area. As with most of the Navajo Nation land, the cell signal is very spotty and mostly 3G or Edge for data. While in the park, sitting in the same spot, we saw the ATT signal go from 3 bars of 4G to 3 bars of LTE to noth... more

“Nice little spot for a night.”

The maximum overall length for your rv is 28 feet. Some of the spots hare double wide so you can pull your tow rig next to your rv. Some of the sites have great views. There are also some small pull thru sites.

The view of the stars is fantastic. Surprised there was no snow here. Apparently that is not the norm.

Hard to believe this campground is free! Super easy access, nice restroom & all around well taken care of! Spaces aren’t large however, so large rigs might have more trouble. No ground fires or water station this time of year. Wish we could have stayed longer!
