What a great find! Awesome camp host, very friendly and accommodating! Great sleep, pretty good Verizon service and lots of space to park. Also, zero smoke from the fires!

Great spot about 15 miles inland from either Coos Bay or Bandon. This is a city operated park right on the Coquille River that has allowed overnight camping for some years. There are no designated sites so folks park pretty much anywhere. Some parking is on asphalt and some is on flat, grassy areas. Campers are a mix of tenters and self-contained RVs. There are trash cans and restrooms. An added plus is that it’s about 1/2 mile walk into town to go to Safeway, restaurants, coffee places, and a great thrift store. A very nice stay for just $10/night.

Let me begin by saying that we are full-timers on a budget, therefore we try to find as many free parking spaces as possible, most of them in remote, wooded areas. We stopped here on our way to the Oregon coast for a couple of days (we had to do laundry in town) and were happy to pay the $10 per night.
There was ample space; including a large parking lot with RV size parking spaces, and more in the back of the park, some of it near the river. There's a water spigot at the pagoda and clean restrooms. There is some old playground equipment, including a "fort", a swing set, and a couple of slides. There is an area for a couple of baseball fields, but judging by the condition of the bleachers, they haven't been used in a long time. There's also a boat ramp, a boat dock, and a fish cleaning station.
The park was pretty busy when we were there. There was a memorial service held under the gazebo on Saturday (they reserved it ahead of time), lots of traffic in and out, and 4 or 5 RVs.
We enjoyed a stroll through the park, along the railroad track, and by the river, so it was almost like being in the woods. We're putting it on our list of places we'd come back to.

Because of the virus the restrooms we're closed, but they have porta potties setup. We were set contained so we were okay. The grass was cut, the host was friendly and helpful. They let you park anywhere. No hookups.

The camp spot furniture was nice at one time but is showing some breakage that isn’t being repaired. There was a bbq grill at my spot at one point, but it rusted away and all that is left is a pole with jagged edges. The bathroom was probably a set in the walking dead - rust and graffiti everywhere. At least Tp but no soap.

No real designated camping sites mostly people just drive up and set up camp where there is room. Everything is pretty open and visible but depending where you are camped at some foot traffic might walk through. The park is right outside of Coquille proper off the highway so you do hear some traffic but not much. I would say my biggest complaint is the bathrooms could be cleaner and I haven't found any place to fill up water jugs. in the park.
