“Convenient but not great”

Reviewed Nov 13, 2017

Overall Rating

We stayed in the primitive camping area for one night. Pros were nice birds on lake, convenient to highway, mountains in view, inexpensive and we were only campers (mid-November). No water during winter(vault toilets pretty clean). Downsides were that park is relatively small and surrounded be development so traffic noise and sirens du... more

“Never again.”

Camp host allowed horribly LOUD music one night for 5 hours, claims he told them to turn it down. Also, same people were allowing foam plates and plastic bags to blow into the lake. Other end of campground better, but the locals have taken over the entire thing - if there's a local leaving one of the better campsites, they will let o... more

“Lovely lake, good Verizon service; odd layout & 'meh' ammenities”

Reviewed Aug 06, 2017

After a week of vacation, we needed an inexpensive place to post-up and catch up on work. Storrrie Lake State Park fit the bill. The developed camping areas in this park seem to be randomly arranged - some spots offer close quarters, while others have plenty of space -- and the electric sites 20-27 are set-up like a typical close-q... more

“Great stopover site”

This was our second time at Storrie Lake. It's a great overnight spot if you are in the area. Plenty of primitive spots down by the lake and the sunsets never disappoint. It's an easy pull in no unhooking overnight spot and you're going to get treated to a great sunset. Lots of port-a-potty's and two large clean bathroom and shower... more

“Meh.”

Reviewed Jul 15, 2016

We booked 5 nights here basically to kill time at a cheap state park. It's...just meh. We didn't find the lake to be that scenic. The park is dusty and run-down. The dumpstation isn't just closed for the winter as a previous review said - it's just closed with no apparent plans to repair. There's a private park up the road 2 mi... more

“Nice New Mexico State Park”

Reviewed Nov 10, 2015

I drove through the park today to check it out. I'm staying at the Las Vegas Elks lot but was thinking of moving for the next two days. There are 25 sites with Electric and Water. Power is 30a. 10 of the sites are pull throughs. These all have shelters. There are additional 4 on the southwest side, also with shelters. Two of ... more
