Very helpful rangers. Maintenance could use some supervision, there doesn’t appear to be anyone here except the rangers. Very little water in the lake due to severe drought conditions.

Easy to find, clean and quiet state park. We did not have a reservation, so we took our chances. Plenty of available spots for our 33ft class A and toad. The only thing is that there aren’t walk ins. So, 14$ isn’t really 14$. Its 18$ with the reservation fee. Nobody was at the office when we arrived, so I reserved online.

The reservation system is confusing. Sites are marked A and R for available and reserved. Others are marked X which the reservation system indicates means unavailable, but are actually first come first serve. Flyer indicates some sites are reservable May 15 - Sept 15 only, and we were told FCFS over dates.

Stayed March 25. Your experience will depend on your level of expectation. We wanted a stop where we could get water and dump, didn't want to spend KOA money, and didn't want to drive further along our route. We made a reservation online and for our needs, this campground worked perfectly. Since we knew water was shut off until April 1, we filled with potable water by the dump station. Level sites, easy in/out, bathrooms were also closed till April 1 and the port-a-potties by the playground were open. Quiet at night once traffic died down (until obnoxious tenters with a loud muffler had to drive to the port-a-potty , repeatedly starting at 6:30a. Takes all kinds!). Lake levels are way down, but it still made a nice leg stretch walkabout after a long day of driving. Driving a little further off the interstate was worth it to us.

After we arrived there, there was no shower even though the list of amenities has shower. It is true that the website stated main shower was closed for repair. But there are 2 showers on the campground according to the campground map. We walked to another shower facility but it was locked, both men and women. There was no notice of any explanation of its closure. I think government just does not have accountability to anyone, so does this state park. From now on we will stay away from state parks or any facilities operated by government except free BLM. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this state park.
Also in the evening there were a lot of teenagers drove around and very noisy.

Confirmation email stated check in time is 4:00 pm. We arrived around this time and found there was no water available at the site or any site at lease in the south loop. We found one sticker for water near the dump station. No water at the dump station and the bathroom was blocked off. We were going to go into town and noticed the sign near the gate that stayed the gate closed at 5:00. We couldn’t believe they would lock us out of the campground so we waited until after 5:00 to see if this was true-yes it’s true. The gate was locked. Looks like you only have 1 hour to check into this place. Doesn’t make sense.

The lake is pretty far from these southern camp sites, but nice and quiet! There is a large, bright street light pole that lights up most of the camp area, so bring your window covers if you like sleeping in the dark.

Stopped here for a few days to reset.
Campground is just ok.
Bonus is all pull through sites so you wouldn’t even need to unhook.
Walmart just a few miles away for food, propane, etc.
Mills Plaza Laundromat (in town) was amazingly clean, great staff!
Warning! The gates are locked at 5pm in off season! No entry!

We camped at Storrie Lake during dreary weather, which certainly doesn’t give the CG a chance to shine. On the bright side, the CG offers large, level sites with plenty of privacy. We had a 30amp/water site ($14 + online booking fee) and appreciated the easy to access dump station on the way out (also accessible on entry). Our Verizon worked without a booster, and there was plenty of room for walking our dog.
This park is laid out a little funny, and we found the hard left upon entry to be challenging, and after that we were greeted with another hard left to enter the camp site area (less challenging than the first, but still seemed poorly planned). I see other reviewers noting that this CG is run down, and I would tend to agree, though it was hard to judge on our short stay. The park was clean, quiet, and there was a camp host and circulating park rangers. We would stay here again, but I didn’t see anything to make this a destination CG, more of useful overnight. It’s easy to access and close to a lot of handy amenities. It’s also worth noting there was a sign that said the water would be shut off beginning 10/1, which would make this spot less appealing if we were just passing through.

“ Park entrance gate closes at 5PM!”
noted 3/5/2023
Beware the entrance gate to the park closes at 5pm during off season. Only place were this is shown is upon exiting the park. You can not get a site after 5 and if you reserve one online, you can not get in the park. Check gate closure hours during peak season.
If you go to town after 5, you will have to park in after hours parking and walk in. As you turn to the right after entering there are several electric sights in B section that are FC/FS.
