SITE: Pretty spot among many pine trees so feels private. You can see the water from the site and it's a great area to get around and walk outside. Our site was pretty level, we just needed a little boost on one side. Our sewer hose didn't fit in the hookup and it's higher than the ground so you had to assist your hose when dumping. Some of the asphalt getting to the site was really messed up so you have to dodge pot holes, but if you go slow it's perfectly doable - just bouncy. It froze 3 of the nights we were there so had to plan accordingly with our hoses.
AMENITIES: We were right across the way from Comfort Station #10 so to use the laundry room was really convenient. Daily trash pick up at site was very handy. $2 for both washing and drying. The dryers didn't work that well for us - had to run the cycle twice on towels. It's a very quiet and peaceful location.
WIFI / CELL SERVICE: Wifi would occasionally load emails, but was not reliable and very slow to load basic searches, if at all. AT&T was 2 bars, but it worked fine at the site for calls and video calls.
You do have to pay a one time fee of $20 for your car entry into Stone Mountain on top of your RV park fees. Stone Mountain has great areas for walking and biking!

We needed to visit friends in Atlanta so we stayed here for 2 nights and then left it for the rest. No major issues. I picked site 431 because a previous review stated it was level. It was not but workable. The level site is 431a. Beware of the sewer as ours didn’t screw on. Let’s just say it was a disaster dumping tanks.

Lets start with the good. Nice staff and easy check in. Beautiful veiws of Stone Mountain and Lake at some sites. Lots to do in the area. Many things closed due to Covid. Cable, Full Hook-ups at our site. There is a pool and playground. They are currently closed due to Covid. We didnt use comfort station so no idea what they were like. We stayed in Purple site 149. Now the bad. The park is run down !! Its in need of a major renovation. With that being said, they are in the process of updating the park. Orange section has been updated and nice with new gravel and paved sites. There are only a few paved sites with a covered patio. Looks like all new electric and water has been installed. You see construction going on at other sites loops so im assuming the entire park will be updated. Ok back to the bad which is 95% of the park. Roads are in bad Shape need repaving, sites were not cleaned before check in, firepit was a joke, the decks are old and need replacing. The gas grill was old and needed replacing and the grass around the park has not been cut in a while. WiFi was a joke. Ok I know that most RV parks have bad WiFi and I understand with so many campers trying to download shows etc, its usually boggs it down. But there is only about 10 campers here and the WiFi is a total joke. I used my hotspot on my phone. There are quit a few full timers here. I love meeting full timers, they have the best stories and adventures to tell. But I dont like seeing full timers that junk up the sites. Seems they have no rules for them here. With that said, my kids had a blast here and at the end of the day, thats all that matters. I would give it a year until the park is all updated and try it again, I am sure once its all complete it will be a great place.

First let me say the staff were all very helpful and pleasant. Camp store, checkin, cleaning crew, and everyone else I came in contact with was great. Second, I visited during COVID so not everything was open. Third, the only reason I even picked this place was because it had WIFI (which didn't' work) and good cell reception so I could work a very busy week.
When I arrived I was originally on site 424 and after trying to maneuver, with and without lifts, to level my small RV, I gave up and called the office to switch sites. I was moved and able to choose one of three sites. The site I chose was small but fit my RV with room to put out my awning (I have no slides but think I would have been okay) and set up a small table, chairs and my grill (they have grills and picnic tables too). Sites are not on top of each other but they are at the same time. My neighbor's seating area was set up directly behind my RV, which was fine because I left the day they arrived but would have been really annoying if they were there the whole time, even though they were very nice.
Roads looked like they were being repaved but where I was they still desperately needed some love. The sites for big rigs looked like they had just been redone and were smooth and nice.
WIFI didn't work. I thought maybe it would closer to the office but no luck. My verizon and att worked but had to be in certain spots at my campsite. I mean exact certain spots. Like on the top of my couch pillow on the far left of the RV. Move it slightly right and I was down to one unusable bar.
Biking and exploring was fun though. Wish you could swim in the lake. Their excuse on the website was water testing wasn't done enough but that seems off to me.

We recently moved out of our house in ATL and into full time RV life—so we camped here for nearly 2 weeks while we transitioned in and have stayed 2 times since then. It’s definitely the most solid option closest in to Atlanta — though still a good 35 minutes to downtown Atlanta. Thankfully it is close in to Decatur (15 min) and all the major retail and grocery you could want — including Sprouts and Whole Foods. Dog park about 10-15 min away at JB Williams in Gwinnett. This park is really solid — yes some of the sites are quite unlevel per other reviews. Fortunately for us we could visit the park to scope out the best sites before our first visit—and since then we have walked the whole park scoping out good ones. It’s pricier than most parks so would be important to ensure you get a great site. Gets crowded on weekends as there are lots of weekenders and many weekend festivals throughout the year—and with it being closest in to ATL—you need to book early on weekends, holidays, and peak times. Sometimes the website is down and you need to call to book. For longer trips (1 week+) the peach camping sites are the best value with full hookups. Furthest from the entrance and center of campground though. The worst part about this park are strict speed limit enforcement — not that we advocate being unsafe — but the speed limits are quite low—so it takes you a while to get into and out of the park/campground. Also not great—WiFi is included in the park but it is utterly unreliable. You need to bring your own hotspot. Great cellular service.

I will say my husband and I enjoyed the beauty of the park and the great hiking trails. We hiked all the trails, went to the top of Stone Mountain and did enjoy the colder weather. As for the campground sites, not so much. I had read about the uneven sites so thought by choosing a pull through on a less busy loop that we’d do better but not so much.
I will say that the reservation staff and front desk staff were nice. So when we found our site (412) we were really dissatisfied that it was a pull off, not pull through, which would have our door literally opening on the road. I jumped on the phone to see if the site next door was open since the park was pretty deserted. Luckily we were able to change and the site was a bit better. At least we were a few feet off the road.
The campground roads are so horrible they will rattle your teeth just getting to your site. Bathrooms while old, were fairly clean and they did pick up your trash each day if needed.
It really filled up over the weekend with a ton of folks arriving Friday night, but our loop was still very quiet.
For the steep price I would expect better campsites and since we already hiked all the trails I doubt we would come back again. I think we’ll stick with state and national parks.

Views were pretty and park was overall clean. $53.90/night is with Good Sam and does not include the $20 it costs to get into the park. Make sure you come from the east. Supposedly west entrance has a low clearance bridge. Staff was friendly and check in was easy.

Since we wanted to be close to friends and downtown, this campground kind of had us by the you know whats.
It is very expensive. And not great.
We had passport so we assumed that we would at least get that discount. Upon arrival (on a saturday) we were told that it is only valid for one night and only valid sunday through thursday. Ok fine, so apply the discount to sunday night and we are good. No, Im sorry. Its only valid for your first night, so since Sunday is your second night it wont apply. Ok fine, charge us for Saturday night only, we will leave tomorrow and then we will come back tomorrow and make Sunday a first night. No, Im sorry, that against the rules since you would have just been here.
Ok whatever. What a racket. Forgot to mention, on top of the crazy prices for sites (and we did not pay for the most expensive) we also had to pay $20 to get into the larger park just to drive to the campground. $20 for 10 min of driving. Once you register for camping you get a park pass but you cant get that until you register.
They give us "one of the only sites left". Its SUPER tight. Our front door opens to a drainage ditch. And the pad is unlevel front to back and left to right. For $60+ a night, not what we expected at all. We have been fulltiming for almost a year so we have seen a "few" campgrounds to compare against.
We took the dogs on a walk around part of the campground and walked past countless other sites that were larger, more level, and that would have been a breeze to park in. The park is basically half full. Its the end of November so definitely their off season.
This campground did not give us any reason to like it except for its proximity to where we needed to be.

It was on a slope with a significant pitch. The site had partial pavement due to age resulting in a challenge to get the rig in. The site was not able to get the rig and PU onto the site cleanly. Departure involved going down a 6% grade rough road followed by a 6% grade up the other side.
