The campground is small but beautiful. We even had electricity at our site (#10). Bathrooms are clean, but the showers were semi-functional. Dumpsite ($7.00). The one drawback is there is no drinking water available, which is why I gave it four instead of five stars.
There are several hikes nearby. We walked the trail down to the beach; a beautiful walk through redwoods to a gorgeous little cove (.3 miles).

Great place. Love how close it is to the beach in the cove. Also, there are a couple very nice hikes in the canyon and another out to the small cliffs above the beach (good spot for watching a sunset). Staff and camp host friendly, welcoming and helpful. There was a water advisory when we stayed here (e-coli traces in the water supply) but it was highlighted on the park website so we prepared by bringing plenty of our own water.

This is my first time at this park and this is my first review. There are only about 20 spots for rv’s. Most of the spots are paved. Most back in, but there were at least 2 pull through spots. We were in #13. This is a nice spot if you don’t have a pop out on the drivers side. It was a struggle to get off the road enough so as not to block the main traffic. Dry camping. The water faucets warn to boil water due to fecal contamination. There are showers and restrooms there at least two in the area where we stayed. I want to return and camp here again though. The beach is a short 10 minute walk away. There are hiking trails with much nature. I hiked up to the old fort Ross school house to check it out. Each site has a fie ring with grate, animal proof food locker. Garbage and recycle bins close by that are shared between campsites.

We’ve been here a few times dry camping. Cell service on the Sonoma coast is practically nonexistent. However, there seems to be a big improvement. However, there seems to be a big improvement. Verizon now has 2 bars and download speeds approaching 2mps…minimal for streaming your favorite content. (There’s a huge cell tower complex a few miles up north on CA Hwy 1). Don’t know about other carriers.
As to camping…just perfect!
Be aware that site #3’s picnic table and fire ring is backwards and it’s best to park nose-in.
Also, no camp host as of this posting.
Bring plenty of drinking water, as ranger and signs say that their potable supply needs to be boiled.

We have stayed here many times. Site 3 is small for our 23 foot trailer but had room for three tents. Fishing and whale watching was at it best. I kayak from the cove and fish out in the open ocean. The staff and campground host are great.

This is our go to campground. Many activity's from ocean kayaking, fishing, beachcombing at the cove, hiking. Sites are great for small trailers or tents. Great place to abalone dive when season ever opens back up.

Beautiful small clean and safe. Helpful camp hosts, good rates. No hookups, but water, flush toilets, hot showers and a dump station are all available for campers. A low key gem on Hwy 1.
