Overview of Steer Pasture Overlook Dispersed Camping

Effective 7/20/2021, the Forest Service has implemented Stage 1 fire restrictions for the Buffalo Gap National Grassland, including the Nomad View and Steer Pasture dispersed camping areas. This means that campfires and charcoal grills are prohibited until further notice due to high fire danger. Propane and liquid-fuel stoves are permitted, but should be used with caution.

Please close cattle gate upon entering and leaving area. You should stay on designated roads that are indicated on the Grassland's MVUM (Motor Vehicle Use Map) Map.
