“Not for everyone.”

BLM cheap camping with extended stays, I think it is 14 days. The result is some longtimers, homeless looking campers, and a hippie couple that are all probably just fine. It is secluded, with no cell service. On the plus, I imagine it all depends on timing of visit. The sites are clean, asphalt pads, picnic tables and fire ring. Camp fires are allowed is a big plus. Sites are not level and certainly not for rigs. Campers, tents, pop tents would be easy to camp in. All-in all, the current company would make it a no for family camping.

“A small, quiet, shady campground, on the Trinity River”

Reviewed 5/14/2023

Overall Rating

The CG is about 2 miles off the hihway, very quiet. Access road is a bit narrow but well paved. No hookups. The sites are too tight for big rigs, but right along the Trinity River. Mostly shaded sites, with tables and fire rings, a handicap accessible site with a vault toilet, a nice swimming hole is just a bit up river. First come, but we've camped there 3 times in a 17' Casita and never been skunked. :-) Verizon service is very sketchy, sometimes a text will get thru.
