“Wonderful Campground and Surrounding Areas”

MY wife and I plus friends camped on 4 sites. All were great with tons of trees around. Bath house were very clean and showers were hot with lots of pressure. Hiking in the park and close by. Burgess Falls State Park is about an hour drive but well worth it. Very nice lake, rustic cabins, and Standing Stone SP is home to the Super Bowl of Marbles every September.

“A lovely state park”

Tennessee does is right when it comes to state parks. Not only are they open year round, but they have nicely wooded sites, free hot showers, great trails, and friendly and helpful staff. We spent a few nights here on a crisp fall week at the end of October. Enjoyed the trails, admired the cabins, and kayaked around the small lake. They also have a really nice looking pool, but it was closed for the season and too cold to swim anyway.

One thing to keep in mind is that while the sites here are generous is size, the campground loop road is kind of tight with lots of trees which could be a problem for bigger RVs.

Empty Campgrounds + Fall Leaves - WatsonsWander

Ahhh…the joys of fall camping. Empty campgrounds, fall colors, and crisp, cool air. What’s not to love? We stayed at two different campgrounds last week. Both were nearly empty and filled with s...
