“Nothing Special, but close to Lake Havasu City”

Reviewed Apr 02, 2018

Overall Rating

This spot was ok. Its basically a open area in the desert that had RV drivable road. As we were coming to this area we saw many spots like this one to pull off and set up camp. There are a few more spots closer to Lake Havasu City but they get busier the closer you get.

This is simple desert boondocking here. There are no amenities of any kind. And being wide open desert area it can get really windy here and hot. Access was easy enough, like I said there were lots of pull off areas East of the 95, some where easier access then others. Cell service worked fine here. Its about a 10 minute drive into town. There is also a camp host here, but don't think they really do anything. Everything seemed fair game out here. There is some traffic noise off the busy 95, but you can camp further away from the road if it bothers you.

As for activities in the area, there is lots to do here. Obviously Lake Havasu is right here so there is plenty of boating, kayaking, SUPing, fishing. There are some good hiking and okay biking trails at nearby Sara Park. If you are a ATV'er there are lots of dirt roads that head off into the desert in every direction. There is plenty of night life in town too. It was spring break while we where here so it was probably extra crazy.

“Good BLM site”

Reviewed Mar 30, 2016

Overall Rating

Lots of room, rocky and not too level - but passable. We were at least 1/4 mile off Hwy 95, and more than 200 yards from the nearest other campers. View was very good. You could hear the traffic on the highway if you were awake in the middle of the night, but it did not keep us awake.

Some dirt-bikers came through around 8:30 AM, but we were up long before then so they weren't a bother.
