“Small, pleasant campground”

28 sites at a riverside marina. Nicely shaded with FHU. Appears most waterfront sites were designed for Class A Motorhomes to pull in and face the river. Utilities at those sites are on left side of the site. (Tow-able trailers allowed to pull in and back out.) Other sites are back-in or pull through. Quiet despite not being far from interstate 90. Occasionally, freight trains came through nearby but I did not find the trains disturbing. (light sleepers might want to use earplugs).Review on another website mentioned nearby water treatment plant. No smells or activity noted during this visit.Clean, spacious bathhouse facilities. The process for check in and payment was very 'low tech'. Apparently the municipality is trying to keep things simple with phone reservation/1st come 1st serve and credit card payment upon arrival. No cash accepted. NOTE: water pressure very high, bringing your own adjustable gauge would be best.

“Great Value on the Erie Canal!”

I loved this place. The manager is super helpful and the weekly rate brought our cost down to $30 a night which is a good deal for 50 amp full hookups. The town is a typical upstate New York small town with historic buildings, etc. It's nestled in the Mohawk river valley and is very peaceful. The local stores within walking distance include a grocery, drug, hardware and convenience stores.

Because this town was built along the Mohawk River where the Erie Canal runs, the campground is at the marina on the canal. This means that every mode of transport follows the river valley. The CSX has a double track mainline a stone's throw behind the campground. If trains are your thing, as they are mine, you can't give this place a high enough rating. It was awesome. I-90 runs south of the river, far enough away that you don't notice the traffic noise.

All in all, the week exploring the area blew past a little faster than expected.

Here's the url to a video of my adventures here. It isn't really a review, but will give you an idea of the beauty around here. https://youtu.be/6mjr4kolYuw
