Just a few miles off US 12. The road was better than on the previous review. The sites are well separated and front on the creek. The vault toilets were clean and well stocked with TP. We had no serious bug problems. This is a pack-it-in-pack-it-out place. There is a working hand pump. We had no cell service. The forest road is much... more

The forest road is much higher than the creek. Traffic can be loud during the day but it was very quiet at night.

This campground was meh. Just a place to spend the night. Big giant flies and lots of mosquitoes. Two miles of paved road was full of big potholes and the gravel road was a combination of smooth with sections of very rutted road. No water or any way to throw out garbage. Scenic drive in but you are too busy watching for potholes.

The road in is narrow in spots and paved for 2 of the 4 miles from the highway turn. There are no hookups and no water so make sure you bring your own. Also, there are no dumpsters so you need to pack to out. There were several ATV’ers there but the trails are away from the campground and they drove very slow when coming and going, so not a noise problem at all. The creek is right behind the sites and the water runs shallow but pretty fast which makes for a lovely sound. :-) We had no cell service at the campsite but as soon as you got back out on the highway 12 I got 5 bars on Verizon. All in all we would come back again. We paid $3.50 a night with our Senior National Parks pass.
