We followed our RV GPS right to the campground (CG), which is a favorite of ours for a two-night stay. Check-in was quick and easy. We proceeded to Deluxe River site 18 with 30 AMP and water. You can angle the rig in as you want to get set up on the wide pad area. The utilities were in the middle of the gravel pad, and we could park where our 9’ patio could come out to enjoy the gorgeous view of the river. They have free WiFi, but it was not very fast, and we used our Starlink. There are mature trees here, but we got a clear shot north for Starlink. We got 3 bars on Verizon. The water pressure was okay. Talking to our next-door neighbors, who have stayed here over the years, this CG is under new management by a couple who also owned a KOA in Billings. There are already changes, such as getting rid of the cabins and putting in some new FHU sites. There may be plans for new cabins in the future. We also noticed that from staying here in September 2019, the ponds are now state-stocked, and you need a Montana fishing license following regular fishing regulations versus no-license pay for the trout you catch. They also have a military and senior discount, but this wasn't mentioned/given when we made our reservations online. We mentioned it to the lady who checked us in, but she didn't offer to refund us the discount like other CG's have done in the past. There is no dog park, but there’s plenty of area to walk your dog. Someday we are going to plan a longer than two-day stay so we can further explore the area and fly fish the river.

We were in site 16 - the only downside is that in order to face the river view - we had to face our coach the opposite side of the hookups. If we had extensions it would not have mattered, but we didn't so we weren't able to hook up. (not a big deal since it was only one night). so we boondocked. Showers clean and well kept!

But oh my gosh! The laundry facility is the worst I’ve ever experienced. And even though we were in the few full hook-up locations, we could not dump our grey, or black tanks for our last two nights because the line was clogged. I guess these things happen and it wasn’t their fault. But it wasn’t pleasant not being able to shower, nor wash dishes, nor clean our trailer before leaving after a week here. They did finally use their honey-pot to come empty our trailer tanks on the morning we left with no charge.

Easy access off the highway, but far enough that you can’t see or hear the traffic, about 3-4 miles of easy road. The creek flows fast and is amazing to fall asleep/wake up to. Friendly staff, Clean bathrooms/showers. Fishing ponds are cool, but you need a Montana fishing license. Will stay here again, next time we are coming through!

We stayed at Spring Creek on our way west and then again returning home, each for 1 night. The sites were clean and level, the hosts were fantastic, and everyone was friendly. Our first night was at a site near one of the trout ponds. On our return night, we were in a back-in site that was next to the river. Beautiful setting and we could really see the stars at night. The sites can be a fairly close together, but everyone was quiet. The campground had a musician one of the nights, playing a great set of acoustic rock and country.
The campground is a few minutes south of town, but only about 5 minutes from the freeway. It is worth getting away from the highway noise. Phone coverage seemed decent. We had water and electric. There wasn't sewer at our sites, but the dump station was easy to stop at on our way out of the campground.

There are still 12 full hook up sites, 7 seasonal sites, 17 water and electric 30 amp sites, and 21 water and electric 50 amp sites. There is a dump station available for the w/e sites. Most sites are back in, but a few are pull through sites. There are 4 cabins, an area for tents, a large pavilion, two fishing ponds, restrooms, showers, and a laundry. The camp store is stocked with snacks, ice cream and souvenirs. Last time we were here, the cell service was minimal; it is much stronger now. The campground WiFi worked well this time too, even though the campground was very full. There is plenty of space for pet walking. The staff was very helpful and escort all guests to their sites. The Boulder River flows right past the campground. One new guideline is that since the state now stocks the fishing ponds, the fishing is free, but now you have to have a state fishing license. Yes, we would definitely return again.

Other than being a bit nervous about arriving after 6p (which is when the gates would have been closed), we really enjoyed our evening here. The campground wasn't super-convenient to I-90, but that also made it quieter with a more out-in-nature feel. We got the last site along the river. The river noise and view were very relaxing. Once we arrived (we had made a reservation), we were promptly escorted to our campsite by a woman. Our site was a tight fit for our 26-ft camper, but she was expert at helping us make it work. There are two stocked trout ponds there, but we didn't fish either one of them. Enjoyed the electricity for ac in the heat of the day, but were able to turn the ac off as the evening came on. Temperatures were in the upper 90s everywhere around Billings, so we were happy to get a very nearly last-minute reservation at this campground. If we had run into any of the political displays another reviewer had mentioned, it would have colored our perception of our stay differently. Happily that wasn't anything that came up. We were able to simply enjoy this lovely campground. We would definitely consider going back for several nights if we could get a site directly on the river again. Some river-front sites were much larger than others. Ours was one of the smaller ones, but again, we were happy to have it!
