We stayed one night, after changing our plans at the last minute. Bob was very accommodating, and allowed us to pick the campsite we wanted. The campground is very quiet. There is a lake with a fountain, pavilion, playground area, and shower house. The fee was just $25 for E/W. There is a dump station on site. We would definitely stay again!

We first stayed on and off through November and December of 2023 and again March 2024. Every time we stayed it was quiet, clean, had 30/50amp spots, place to get water, and a dump station. We first stayed on and off through November and December of 2023 and again March 2024. Every time we stayed it was quiet, clean, had 30/50amp spots, place to get water, and a dump station. The owners are amazing. We locked ourselves out of our camper on one of the first nights and the owner Bob helped us out. The gravel pads are pretty level and very spacious you don’t feel like you are on top of another camper. We stay here every time we come to see family.

This campground is easy to access from the highway. This family keeps their campground very clean, and they were very few campers as it was a weekday.. easy to pull in and out of all the spots trash can was convenient for throwing away things. This campground is easy to access from the highway. This family keeps their campground very clean, and they were very few campers as it was a weekday.. easy to pull in and out of all the spots trash can was convenient for throwing away things. I did not use the shower or the hook ups but I came in late and found it very easy to park and go straight to sleep. Bob came around early in the morning but I had already slipped a payment in the door slot plan on staying here on my long trips, cross country.

Arrived just before sundown. Met owner, I guess it was Bob. He told us we could camp anywhere we wanted. Explained we didn't have any water on board and he pointed to faucets near facilities to fill up or we could just hook up if we wanted to move, which we did since we had just pulled in. Arrived just before sundown. Met owner, I guess it was Bob. He told us we could camp anywhere we wanted. Explained we didn't have any water on board and he pointed to faucets near facilities to fill up or we could just hook up if we wanted to move, which we did since we had just pulled in. Did not really spend time doing anything other than setting up. Went into Effingham for a quick bite - cannot recommend Gabby's Goat enough - food was absolutely off the charts and very reasonably priced. Beer was good too. Managed to get to the local store before they closed for a couple items then back to the campsite. Just beware if you are eastbound you must exit in Effingham right after the big cross and take the detour for 10+ miles. Leaving eastbound you must do basically the same thing. Westbound is no issue, though in 2024 they will switch it.

Bob Overbeck and his wife Norma keep a beautiful place here. Most campers are from the local area, and the spots generally are full on weekends. Weekdays, unless a holiday week, are generally open for walk-ins per Bob. My pup, Henry, and I arrived unannounced on a Friday before the 4th, and we were treated with helpful respect and co... more
Bob Overbeck and his wife Norma keep a beautiful place here. Most campers are from the local area, and the spots generally are full on weekends. Weekdays, unless a holiday week, are generally open for walk-ins per Bob. My pup, Henry, and I arrived unannounced on a Friday before the 4th, and we were treated with helpful respect and courtesy. Bob even found a shady place for us to set up dry, and moved us to an electric spot cancellation and out of the 95 degree heat with the gift of an ice cold beer. Best beer I ever tasted. Quality folks here, all politics aside. At almost 80 years on the planet, I can’t get too worked up over a Trump flag. Life’s too short to miss meeting good people.

What a shame To have someone’s political views despoiled a beautiful landscape. We go camping to enjoy the outdoors and get away from American politics. Not sure who’s feelings are being asked up by this blatant display. What a way to ruin a beautiful location.

Level sites that are easy to get in to. Grounds and facilities are clean and well kept.
Small amount of road noise from the highway but not enough to really matter. Owner visited in the morning, great guy!
We enjoyed our one night stay here, highly recommend.

I stayed here only one night due to issues with my slide. It was very nice and quiet. Peaceful. $20 electric site. If my TT gets fixed I’ll surely hit this place again for more nights
