Spencer Spit State Park

We stayed three nights in spot #10 in our van. Great campground. Quiet. Sites were private and spacious. Bathrooms were very clean but only a single stall.

Limited cellular coverage unless you walk down to the beach and out onto the spit.

No showers in the park. Only showers we found on island were in the Lopez Village park. No showers at Odlin county park either.

Kayaks and Sups were available for rental on the beach for the summer season.

We rented e bikes from Village Cycles. They delivered them directly to the park for us to use all and then picked them up at the end of the day (for $5 per bike). Kind of pricey but fun way to see the island.

We had such a fun time camping here. After hopping onto the ferry from Orcas Island, it was just a short trip to Lopez Island. The campground was easy to find. Our campsite was private, surrounded by trees and bushes. The bathrooms were some of the cleanest we'd ever experienced while camping. The town and surrounding wildlife reserve was easily accessed by bike. And just a short walk to the rocky shore line from our campsite.

For a state park this park offered good privacy (tall hedges/trees between sites and not many sites overall compared to the size of the park.) Great location as you can bike to Lopez Village and walk down to the Spencers Spit on the water for shellfish collection and crabbing (in season.) Also has kayak rentals. Marked down just because there is very little cell service and the sites, although placed nicely from each other, are often not far off the main road. Many of the larger sites are pull through which is nice--at least your back is to the road.

Mid week it was almost empty and quiet; got noisier and busier as the weekend came closer.
