My husband was able to snag a spot here for the entire week (hard to do…this place is booked out) and we absolutely loved it. We were worried at first about the cell service (we work remote from our campervan), but T-mobile came through for us! The bike trails are super fun and they have one that takes you right out to town. There is a nice beach with really calm water. The weather was perfect 60/70. Campground had spacious sites and bathrooms/showers. There was even a few food trucks by the beach at lunchtime. Worth the money!
Here is a quick summary for fellow remote workers:
Starlink: If you are lucky to get a site on the water it would probably work better. Ours had a signal, but dropped often.
T-Mobile: we have the “home” tower that you can travel with and it worked well! We both were able to work, take calls, and do conference calls. I don’t know if their hotspot would work as well. We didn’t have much luck with their hotspot, but do with the new home tower. (It’s mobile and only $50 a month for unlimited)
AT&T: not the best. 3 down 3 up with the cell booster
Verizon: we didn’t try to work on Verizon, but we were able to use our phones when not near the wifi. May be able to work on it with the booster, but not a super strong signal. (Better than AT&T.

Nice out of the way campground! We rode our bikes to Egg Harbor. Lots of trees and natural beauty. Hiked and bikes and had campfires. No Verizon phone service. 🤷

Peninsula State Park is a huge state park with five campgrounds with over 400 sites (not including group sites) and it can be overwhelming trying to decide where to stay. Our decision was narrowed down somewhat because two of the campgrounds were closed for the season. We camped in South Nicolet along Nicolet Bay for two nights. Our first night was on the water but because heavy rains were forecasted, we relocated to another site closer to the bathrooms for the second night, putting up with the “hum” for a closer dash in the rain. There is so much to do in the park itself and Door County in general. However, we were here during the week in October so while the campground was quiet, bicycle and boat rentals were not available. Many great hiking trails. My only beef is that Wisconsin State parks charge more than many other states and, in general, facilities are not always as well maintained (bathrooms were a little dated and not the cleanest but sufficient for a campground). Still - this is a great place from which to explore Door County!
