I stopped just to walk my dog and check to see if I could stop For a night on my way back south. The sign said no overnight stays and the bathrooms were locked. They may still allow use of the dump station but not sure there was water available. It’s just a pull through parking area on the main road.

This was a welcome stop after so many empty miles coming up Hwy 85. It’s an easy gravel area to pull in and park. There were 2 other smaller campers when we arrived. They were spaced in such a way to make it a little challenging to park with a big rig. We had to be strategic where we parked, but we found a spot to back into on the southeast edge of the lot. There are 3 picnic tables on pavement under a covered area and 1 Picnic table in the grass under some trees. There are 2 charcoal grills and 2 barrel sized trash cans. Grass surrounds the area for a good spot for kids to run around, but we did find some stickers and cacti. There are bathrooms, but they were locked. A water spigot can be found on the east side of the bathroom building, and an rv dump station is nearby. Pull into the south driveway to be set up to use the water and dump on the driver’s side. This spot is just off the highway so there is a good amount of traffic noise, but it did die down overnight. Lots of big semis driving by. The road is well traveled. There were around 5-10 or so other travelers that stopped in for a break while we were here from about 7pm Monday eve to 1:30 pm Tuesday afternoon. The trash cans needed emptying, but the area was pretty well picked up. Our internet worked well. Verizon with a booster - 1.8 mbps download, 1.9 mbps upload. ATT thru our Togo Roadlink 2 by Winegard - 11 mbps download, 15 mbps upload. Overall, it was a good experience, and we would stay here again.

“Pretty much the definition of a stopover”

Right by the road. Maximum 48 hours stay. Not a ton of room; only two big rigs and a couple little ones can fit at a time. Reasonably level with some potholes. There are trash cans but the volume of deposited trash currently exceeds their capacity.
whitney would stay here again
