We stayed almost two weeks in February 2023. The bathrooms and showers were mostly clean. Many of the sites have the water and electric hook ups on the wrong side. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. It is very loud at night with the frogs. It was a very wet time when we were there - the road to the campground across the road was completely under water. There were several fishermen up by the dam every day. There are a couple of easy trails. Down the road a short way is a shooting range (lots of shooting Friday - Sunday) and a walk with targets for bows. I imagine there will be tons of mosquitoes when the weather gets a little warmer.

Camp host couple were nice and informative.
With our weBoost, our Visible (Verizon) cell signal went from no-to-1 bar up to 3-to-4 bars. However, the inter-connectivity to internet service remained inconsistently slow or not at all. Cell signal was stronger around the picnic area and up the hill on Bodcau Dam Road. (Minus 1 star on rating for poor cell and no internet service.)
The adjacent day use area had a picnic area with pavilion, playground, exercise equipment, disc golf course, and Bayou Bodcau for viewing and fishing. Across the Bayou was a large, mowed field surrounded by trees with several well-spaced picnic sites. There were 3 hiking/mountain-biking loop trails (Durden Hills Nature Trail), each about 2.2–2.4 miles, interconnected.

“No water from spigot and filthy restrooms”
noted 4/9/2024
This is a small COE park with only 20 sites. Upon arrival to our site (#5), our 1st observation was that the water and electric hook-ups were on the camp side of the RV. We could have dealt with that but then discovered that no water came from the spigot. We were due to be at this location for 2 weeks, so this was a huge problem. There is no gatehouse, so we called the number listed on rec.gov and got a recording. Left several messages with various extensions and never heard anything from anyone. We spent the evening looking for a new campground and left the next day. Hoping I can get my money refunded after speaking with a rep on rec.gov. They have to submit a refund request to the Site Manager. Also, the bathrooms were filthy and out of toilet paper. Not sure the last time this park was visited by management. We camped at Tom Merrill Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.
