“Super rough road, gate was locked ”
Reviewed 9/6/2020
Google maps said the location was 33 minutes from our location, but google did not take into account that you have to go 10 mph on a really rough dirt road. It took us about an hour and a half to get up to the gate (with a trailer), and when we got up there the gate was locked. Total waste of time.

Nearby Lamoille Canyon and the campground there burned in Oct. 2018, and it may be a while before it reopens. A ranger gave us directions here as an alternative. You will pass thru about a mile of private property before you reach the base of the hills and go thru a gate...from there you are free to dry camp where ever you like. We stopped at the mouth of the canyon on a spur road. If you go up the canyon 2 miles there's a nice meadow with multiple sites. All dirt roads and only suitable for smaller rigs. Pretty area but nothing spectacular. If you want something remote in the Elko area this is your spot.
NapaTony would stay here again
