My husband and I were looking for a place to catch up on internet work. We considered the RV parks in Ft. Robinson State Park 5 miles south of here, but the price was $18 for a tent. With our senior discount this was $4 and the only other difference was shower availability...we used our solar shower on the warm days. Additionally, this campground was less congested however it is an equine campground, so we had the pleasure of horseman for company several days. The restrooms were well stocked and as spotless as a vault toilet can be. The rest of the grounds also very clean. Many options for hiking horseback riding (your own horse) and, we heard, fishing. Pleasant view. The gravel road coming is a little washboardy in spots, but not too bad...the five mile drive is less than 10 minutes. Big rigs could in with no trouble. (We were here 4 years ago with a 40 ft, plus a horse trailer When the numbered spaces are full, the horse trailers park in other mowed spots. Trash and water (pump) available, but hookups.

“This is a NF site northwest of Fort Robinson”

Soldier Creek is 6 miles NW of Fort Robinson. Entry is through the east portal to Fort Robinson. Road in is gravel in good shape with only slight washboarding.
Just before the final climb to the campground there is a creek that needs to be crossed. It is paved but heavy rains would make it impassable.
For camping really there are only a couple of choices. Just before the creek crossing on the east side of the road there is a camping/picnic area that is a possible location.
Just as you enter the park there is a camping location again on the east side of the road. Might be difficult for longer or heavier rigs.
Once you enter the park turn left at the T following the horse/motor home signs. There is no camping available down the right side and the road is narrow and choked with brush/trees.
Camping is in a turnaround to the west. Room for several rigs. Weekend horse campers. Two vault toilets. No other services.
Verizon was 2 bars unboosted with great speeds of 26/11 mbps Down/Up
Gary would stay here again
