“Riverfront Camping 15 minutes from Old Town Montreal”

Reviewed Sep 03, 2017

Overall Rating

This place is easy to miss as your driving up. Stop at the boat ramp/docks, where the boat shuttle leaves. Just before the boat area there is a small brown building that has electronic gate (that's the campground). There is dry camping and electric options, the electric is water front and slightly higher cost. It's first come first serve and we didn't see the park fill up the entire time we were there (including weekends). There is a dump station and water fill up on site. Recycling and garbage is next to dump area.

The views are beautiful but you are close to traffic and ship noises, so it wasn't super quiet, but overall noise wasn't that bad. If your here to see Montreal, this is the best place to do it! It was a 15 minute drive into Old town Montreal, you could also take the boat ferry from the bottom of the campground, which was $7 per person one way, so driving was more cost effective for us. A cab or Uber/Lyft is also an option. Either way your super close to all there is to see and do in Montreal!

“Closest campground we could find to Montreal”

Reviewed Jun 26, 2017

Overall Rating

Camped here for a few nights in June. The GPS took us past the park - it's located before the quai 99 restaurant, where you'll see a driveway with two guard gate arms.

The sites are gravel with a number of electric sites by the water. The sites weren't numbered; the attendant just said "pick any of these". I believe you can get electric only or non electric sites. No advanced reservations are accepted unfortunately and by late afternoon the campground starts to fill.

There's also a dump station on site and restrooms a slight walk towards the marina. For water fill ups they directed us to connect to the faucets by the dump station (and we saw others filling water there) but it didn't sit well with me. Call me squeamish but I would fill with water before arriving if possible.

You can catch a bus across the foot bridge and then ride the metro into old Montreal. There's also a nice bike path just outside the campground which will provide nice views of the river. You could also bike it - though parts are likely uphill and over the bridge - into the city. Lastly, there's a river shuttle conveniently located at the nearby marina that also takes you into the city and is only operational seasonally.
