Spectacular views and sunsets, so much space up on this butte/plateau area that everyone was nicely spaced and lots of spaces to choose from. If we were smaller and higher clearance we would of went much further back but instead took the first spot on the left overlooking the road. Pretty quiet, can get windy but felt very safe. Will return! Great launching point for Valley of Fire and 90mins one way to Hoover Dam.

We have a 42 ft 5th wheel and arrived around 1:30pm. We were arriving through the Overton NV side. There are 2 large flat areas on either side of the road just past the gravel road up to the mesa. You can camp in those 2 spots or up on the mesa. With a big rig it is better to turn around there and approach the road up to the mesa from the Valley of Fire side. We stopped in one of those areas and scouted for a spot on our e-bikes and ultimately headed up to the mesa. There is a bit of steep hill right at the turn off onto the gravel road. We parked on the north side of the mesa about a half mile from the main road. There are lots of spots to pull out off of the gravel road and several established fire rings. The rock in the camp spots is pretty chunky and jagged but worth it for the views.
Very faint road noise at times while sitting outside.
Verizon signal was great, and with such an open spot our Starlink also worked great.

This place was very easy to access and the views are amazing. A lot of wide open space for big rigs. Recommend showing up with plenty of daylight, there are some steep edges.
We were also excited to see our first bobcat in the wild here.

Huge gravel parking areas with plenty of room to maintain a respectful distance from other RVers. Gorgeous views of the desert and distant mountains. Valley of Fire was swarming with people when we were there, so it was nice to retreat to a less popular and more spread out location for the night.

As Valley Of Fire is always crowded, we decided to stay here for one night. Easy access, huge space. It was very windy the day we arrived and the night was a bit scary, as we parked a bit close to the edge where is drops.

This spot was crowded with everyone on top of each other the pull off right down the road had more space. There is a little hill to get up in the entrance but I was able to do it with 2wd and pulling a 19ft camper. Beautiful views and so close to valley of fire. Overtons groceries were a little pricey but had some decent deals.

We practically got blown in as it was so WINDY the day we arrived! Never been here before and depended on Campendium's reviews for a good and safe site, we definitely found it here at Poverty Flats. We stayed closed to the road as we only stayed one night for an easy departure. We are 72' feet in total length, with a semi pulling our travel trailer and a Ford Bronco sitting on the flat bed behind the semi. It was an awesome spot and even though we were close to the main road, there hardly an noticeable road noise. We had great views, level parking (can be a challenge at some boondocking spots) and pretty good internet, if you have T Mobile. Verizon was not as strong as T Mobile. I highly recommend this place even for 1 night or more. Lake Mead is nearby for plenty of recreational activities, plus it is FREE if you have a national, senior or military pass. Great place!!

Huge spot mainly leveled, great views, close to town that has stores, gas, propane and a dump station at the valley of fire state park for 10/15 dollars depending if your a nevada resident. We were here in February and the weather was perfect and a bit of a breeze. I read some reviewers state here for months at a time. I can see why they would, it’s easy here and enjoyable. We stayed a week and we are leaving because we have reservations elsewhere. Our 37’ class A had no problem here. If we are back again in the future we would stay.

I am getting 4 bars Verizon LTE but Verizon's Visible data service doesn't work (rebooted phone etc)
December 2021: Visible now works here though it was very slow during the day after being very fast the night before, lots of campers.
