Snake Lake Campground is currently a free boondocking location in the Plumas National Forest. There is a sign posted on the information board indicating that there MAY be fees charged in 2020 and a concessionaire in place to bring improvements to the campground. Stayed here 1 night with my boyfriend. Arrived late on a Friday night and accidentally ran into a group site with some loud folks who ran us off told us "go back to where you came from." Went to the main campground and some guy (nice and friendly) solicited weed and acid for sale. His boxer/pit bull was roaming in our site and he pulle... more

May 22nd Thru May 24th Found a fantastic spot right next to the lake with a fantastic view. The campground was very clean except for the bathrooms. 5 vault toilets. The handicapped one was out of order because of flooding. There is a large group picnic area in the middle of the campground along with above the bathrooms are two horse... more
