Only a couple of tv channels at this site and no southern sky for dish satellite. We would have picked a different site if someone was at the office. W014 is a much better site.

Most lake side sites slope from front to back. Most sites are full sun but there are some trees in the campground. In late April, we were by ourselves during the week but the park fills up on weekends. There is a dump station with fresh water near the entrance to the loop. The dump station's fresh water was very low pressure. I had to park in an unoccupied site with water to fill my fresh tank.
Campground is easy driving distance to Lawrence or Topeka (about 25 miles each). The campground is about 10 miles from I70. Arrival was easy, gate was open and unmanned. Be aware that the host locks the gate at 10PM, you can get out but not in. If you arrive after that, you will be locked out but there is a large overflow/waiting parking lot next to the gate.
Good AT&T coverage and we got about 40 HDTV channels.

There are five separate camping areas within the campground, with hundreds of sites available, but it was practically empty during our stay over a weekend in early May. We were in the W (Worthington) loop so all my photos and comments relate to that section.
The campground loop road is in pretty rough shape, with several areas of huge potholes and missing asphalt. The sites themselves are gravel and highly variable on whether they are level. Our backin site was pretty level side to side (only needed 1 block) but the steep slope at the front of the site made it hard for us to hitch and unhitch because it created a weird angle between the truck and trailer. Our site was 30 amp electric and power was great. We were in one of the "lakefront" sites but as you can see from the photos the foliage is so dense there is not much of a view. The good news is that the foliage keeps the noise from the nearby boat ramp from being an issue.
There are flush toilets throughout the campground (some out of order) and they were basically clean. Showers are located near the water fill station at the entrance to the CG. In our loop the bathhouse had four unisex shower rooms with toilets, showers and sinks. They were not as clean as I would like (too many dead and, even worse, living bugs). However, my main issues were that the shower water was ICE cold -- which was only tolerable because it was 90 degrees outside -- and the showers have the annoying push button operation with a really short "flow time" after pushing the button. It was genuinely difficult to shower here, and I am not that picky.
Pay very close attention to the campground map when you make your reservation, because there are no maps available at checkin, there are no signs pointing to the various site numbers, and the configuration is not intuitive. Also, beware of HUGE dips in the campground entry road (just after the "end of county maintenance" sign and coming off the main CG road into the loop road).
There is good hiking available on the Perry Lake Trail, a 30-mile loop with a trail head in the day use area of the park. But watch out for ticks! The closest town, Perry, has gas stations and some small stores. Topeka is about half an hour away and offers anything you'd need. This area of Kansas has rolling hills, surprising elevation changes, and a huge lake, so it's pretty scenic for this part of the country. It worked for us to visit Leavenworth (1 hour) and Topeka (1/2 hour) on our way through the area. For a rustic campground, this was pretty OK, and in a more naturally scenic location I'd probably give it a higher rating.
