Cons- looks like they tried to cram in as many sites as possible, even on unlevel terrain. I can't imagine how ugly it would get during rainstorms with the mud. One other thing...over 200 campsites and the dump station/potable water station is pure insanity. I only put 30 gallons into my water tank (holds 54) because the line was so long. You might get 3 gallons/minute out of the filling station, not acceptable Michigan.
$34/night is way too high. I've seen way better dry camping spots. This was our 3rd Michigan SP on our long trip, & we are really disappointed in this one (we've been to around 5 other Michigan SPs)

East side of campground lots with slopes. West side is ok and reasonable levels. All grass lots except handicap.. Fish cleaning station available. Clean restrooms and showers.. No full hookups. Two lane dumpstation. My lot had 50 Amp service. If you enjoy camping within wooded surroundings, no concrete pads, outdoors within State park and walking distance to the beach this campground is ideal for around 40 a nite with fees. Quiet, little traffic from roadway. Pedestrian walkway over the road to beach...

I love coming to this park. You camp across the street from Saginaw Bay and the beach is amazing. Nice and sandy. The sites are really big and spacious. I felt very secluded in this campground, as you are not close to town.

Only our second time out in our new camper and we picked a wonderful park to visit. I managed to snag a cancelled reservation a few weeks ahead and we had a wonderful spot. Site 222 has no pictures online. It is a wide site that in many other parks would have been two separate sites. Check-in was very smooth, no going inside right now but everything was handled perfectly from the window. My kid's school is currently virtual and my husband is for the time being working remotely so we are taking advantage of that and schooling on the road. Unfortunately, the wi-fi in the park was down, but yeah to Mom for buying a Verizon hot spot to use for school and work just in case we ran into this type of issue ;). The hot spot worked very well. Our camper is self-contained but on occasion, the public restrooms were used. We appreciated the cleanliness of them, but the times for the bathroom cleaning on our side of the campground was a bit odd, 8 am-10 am. That is really prime time for people, especially with kids to be getting going for the day. We will definitely be back. The beach is most likely not as wide as it once was, similar to many Michigan beaches right now. There was enough space though for many families to have a wonderful time and to social distance. Excellent waves due to the storms that never hit us. My kids loved the chuck wagon, awesome fruit smoothies!

Been staying here every year with family for decades. Just across the highway from the lake, this large campground is great for groups travelling together. Level, grass sites allow you to park however you like. Electric only sites throughout the campground, but spigots are scattered throughout for filling up jerry cans. During the summer months, the campground has a lunchtime restaurant that offers sandwiches, hot dogs, smoothies, etc. and I’ve never stayed at a campground that was so generous with the size of their firewood bundles for sale ($5 for at least 25-30lbs of wood!)

Don't miss going to see the ancient PETROGLYPHS about half an hour away, as they are historic. Be careful and cross the road with the pedestrian bridge to the lake. You can drive an hour away to FRANKENMOUTH town to see all the xmas holiday stores there which many find entertaining. Last note there is a nearby lighthouse to see so be sure to drive to that. Note as with all state parks you need the RECREATION PASSPORT sticker which is $33 for out of state per year ($9 for single use) and well worth the cost to support state parks.
