The Slate River Valley offers breathtaking mountain and river views along with many different recreation options along its length. It is frequented in the summer by anglers, mountain bikers, hikers and nature lovers.
Slate Creek dispersed sites are accessed via a narrow gravel road past the O Be Joyful Campground. This road is a single lane at times with limited turn off, against a drop-off. There are on guardrails on this road. Please use caution when driving, especially during peak times.

This site is down a long spur and sticks out over the valley below. The spur is at a steep incline and a bit rutted. There are a few low hanging branches at the turn around in the site. Overall, this is a small rig site. But the views off the site are just amazing! You have the sound of rushing water and then the mountains right there!
The site is partly shaded and has quite a few tall trees. Not the best for solar or Starlink, but it has a nice pull through loop and the fire ring is well placed. It is at a slight slant. A very beautiful site if you have a small rig.
There is no cellular connection in the Slate River Valley
