I don't quite understand the lower stars some people give this CG. Come on you picky people, it's free. Some but not all sites have fire pits, pull throughs, picnic tables. Clean vault toilets. A boat launch ramp. I good dirt road to the entrance. Inside the dirt road is just okay. Some trees. I launched my kayaks there and went downstream (2-3 knot current) 12 miles to another ramp. There was also a ramp at about 5 mile, another at the hwy28 at maybe 18 miles from CG. I showed up on labor day and it only got about 80% full. Lots of dirt roads to go biking on. (contrary to Google you can no longer cross the dam.) T Mobile works well here. Verizon and AT+T struggle. A booster would help.

Its quiet, spaces for all sizes but the bigger you are the more limited of spaces. Leveling could be a problem. Road is ok, if it's wet it could be greasy. Some trees for shade, river access, pit toilets, trash and a few fire rings. Lots of brush. Worth a stay over at even if it is a but of a drive off the main hwy.

Campground is by the river & has many trees. Bugs were not a problem- we were here in June. We didn’t have people running generators nor did we see cows by the campground from previous reviews! Busy tho as we saw about 5 more campers coming in! Would stop over again!

Sites tend to flood and the chemical that they use on the road to control the dust sets up all over your vehicle and rig is like a cement that is very difficult to remove. There are lots of hunters that hang carcasses in trees. Lots of gun noise. And bugs bugs bugs.and the cow pies are abundant.
Typically it is also extremely windy here. Best to keep looking....found a better spot up the road along the river at the Fontenelle Recreation Area (Fontenelle Creek Campground) which has a dump, toilets, wind protected tables boat ramp and is paved, clean and not crowded definitely worth $7 per nt and half off if Golden age or Golden access pass holder.
Slate Creek Campground, I only gave 1 star as it was the lowest rating possible in this app.... it should have been a negative 5 star in reality.

Bring your fishing gear and enjoy watching White Pelicans and other waterfowl fishing nearby. Not far from a road, so there is some road noise but not bad. It’s crowded/full now but it is Labor Day weekend. I’m tent camping so I appreciate there are trees for shade. Personally, if you camp in many parts of the West, there are free range cattle. It’s part of it. I heard them but didn’t see them. It’s a pretty place, free and easy access. Zero complaints here!

In mid September it was just too busy with fisherman and cows. The area is isolated with not much to do other than the fishing. Access is fairly easy for an overnight, but finding a spot on the weekends might be tough.

The Green River was really full when I was there so there were a lot of marshy areas. It seems like a really popular area for fishing but the spots are nice and far apart. I was there on the weekend before the 4th and there were a few groups out camping and fishing but still some empty spots. The one downside was that the mosquitos were horrible! But there were lots of cute rabbits.
I was able to work remotely on Verizon cell signal with a booster and ATT wasn't too bad with it either.
