Silver Creek Park & Campground

Camped 6/21 & 6/22/20 (Sunday, Monday nights). Yep, you will probably have horse poop at your site. If you go here, don't make the mistake we did by picking a site just vacated. The poop is fresh & flies a-plenty!! We moved to a different site. The park was not busy - even with day use riders, and only had a few other campers. Site 75 had a bit of older poop, was a deep pull-through type, and quite nice. All sites are in the woods, so not much sun for our solar panels. Most are huge though, to accommodate horse trailers, and are either back-in, pull-through, have two "driveways" to park, or simply large with room to maneuver. All sites have two posts to hitch horses to, a picnic table and fire ring. They are dirt; no gravel pads or anything.

Our site had privacy with vegetation on either side. There's a long main road through the campground, with an exit at the end and another info board & pay station there. This exit from the park is on 36th Street, a fairly busy road. Since our site was at the end, it was near this road, so heard traffic noise; however, it was fairly quiet at night when traffic lessened. There are a couple off-shoot roads, off the main road, with more sites. All sites we saw were level.

VTs and water pumps were spaced throughout the campground. We were not near the water pump, but had brought our own water anyway. The VT by us had hand sanitizer on the outside of the door and was stocked with TP. However, it stunk bad.

For cell service, we had usually 1 bar, but sometimes 2. There are conveniences back 3-4 miles in Hamilton on M-40. There are trails through the park for horse riding.
