We stayed here in late February 2019 and had just absolutely insane wind the entire time. The forecast we saw showed it only being 15mph (that was for the nearest town), so I don't know that you can find reliable info for it. Regardless we loved staying here because the area is so huge, the patterns in the dry crackled ground are awesome and we loved riding our bikes around on it. The dogs loved running out here too -- and I think there's something about the wind that get's them all jazzed up. Too cute.
We plugged in the given GPS and ended up passing it by about 1/3 a mile and found some tracks that others had used to enter the lake bed. The shoulder on the highway was nice and wide so we pulled over and walked just a short ways to make sure of our entry point.
Due to the wind we ended up keeping both slides in and we learned to point the nose of the RV towards the wind so it didn't directly hit the bedroom, and we angled slightly to try to protect the door because the first day the wind was ripping the door out of our hands!
There's some free natural hot springs in the nearby town of Tecopa but we wouldn't recommend them (tepid water with a film on it, and your feet sink over a foot into the mucky bottom) -- I'm sure the paid ones in town are much better. Looks like it gets super hot in the summer here, FYI. Hope you don't have the crazy wind like we did, but it made for an unforgettable time and we'd definitely come back.

Thanks to other reviewers on Campendium we thoroughly enjoyed our stop at Sirlurian Dry Lake Bed. The area is huge and there are several access points off of Hwy 127. We stayed just one night at Sirlurian Dry Lake Bed. Had the weather been a bit cooler, we might have extended our stay and tried a hike across the lake bed to the hills. As it was, Riley enjoyed some off-leach romping and we enjoyed the quiet. No amenities, except lovely views and solitude. Although traffic noise wasn’t bad, next time we’ll pull even further out for more peace and quiet.
We had 2 bars of Verizon 4G.

The GPS coordinates on Campendium are near the road, and anything on the east side of the road is where you can camp. When we arrived it wasn't clear how to access the spot, so I texted friends of ours who were already here asking where the road was. They replied "make your own!" So we tentatively turned off of Death Valley Road onto the dry lake bed and discovered a smooth flat surface where many had driven before. You probably want to make sure it hasn't recently rained and there isn't any in the forecast, as the lakebed will likely turn into a mud-bed.
The lake bed is adjacent to a mountain range. I was told they're called the Silurian Mountains, but haven't been able to verify that.
We were the only campers here during our stay. It's a fantastic spot, however, there isn't much in Baker if you need groceries or have to do laundry.
Data speeds were a lot faster with a booster, here they are un-boosted:

This place hit on all the things we love in a campsite: plenty of privacy, access to hiking/exploring, and free! We were the only people out here the entire 3 day weekend that we stayed. We were concerned that there might be ATVers on the dry lake bed on the weekend but we never saw another soul. (It probably helped that there are sand dunes about 30 miles north of here that seem very popular.)
We drove all the way across the lake bed to camp on the far side closer to the mountains. We never heard any road noise as we were approximately 1.5 miles from the road.
One day we went exploring and found an old 'ghost town' called Valjean that used to be a water stop on the mining train that went through the area. The railway is gone now but you can drive along much of it if you're adventurous and have a 4x4. There are also numerous mines up in the hills that are still open, but didn't explore those as we didn't have the right lights.
The only thing you'd need to be aware of here is the weather. If it rained, you'd be stuck in the mud! The good news is that there is actually decent cell service here so you can keep an eye on the forecast. Our Verizon speeds (without a booster) averaged: 4.5 up and 12.75 down.

We liked it so much we stopped here again on our way out of Death Valley and spent two more nights. We could see another RV or two off in the distance but we had no other company where we parked. Very relaxing place with nice views, if you like the desert. There is unlimited hiking across the lake bed and into the hills. We would definitely stay here again.
