“Quiet, peaceful, shockingly bug-free”

We stayed one night in the newer Oak Ridge campground and loved it. Considering how busy the lake view campground was, I could not believe how quiet the Oak Ridge campground was. Honestly unless it is winter and I am there to ice fish, there is no chance I will ever stay in the Lakeview sites, way too crowded, and zero privacy. The Oak Ridge sites, on the other hand, had great privacy and were unbelievably quiet. It probably helped that it was a Wednesday night, but I was still shocked by how nice it was. The bath house was also quite nice, though it was a bit of a hike to get there, but worth it for the peace and quiet. The good news is that you can get to the beach and fishing fairly fast too, as you are still less than a mile from the lake. One other major bonus...I think I saw maybe two mosquitoes. I’m not sure why the bug conditions were so good, but it was a definite plus!

“Great little park”

This is a great little park. There are 2 campgrounds. Lakeside is obviously by the lake. If you want to fish, swim, take out your boat you can do it right there. There are 2 bath houses in this campground and the picnic area is just around the corner. The downside of this campground is that the sites aren't very private and not real big plus it can get windy right by the lake.

The other campground - Oakridge - just added electricity to an entire loop. These sites are much bigger and more private. There is also a loop with non-electric sites if you really want privacy. There is a bathhouse in this campground, but it's a bit of a hike from the electric sites.

The campground offers bike trails (the website says 5 miles, but it's more like 2-3). You can do quite a bit of hiking and the most popular hike is to Mount Tom where you get great views of the surrounding area.

Before Oakridge campground added electricity I would've rated this campground lower because the campground gets very busy in the summer months and get be loud, but with the addition of the electric sites we'll definitely be camping here more.
