“Meh Didn’t Care For It”

Super friendly check in. The place is mostly run by kids. Great Mexican food on weekends by the pool.
The cons? Quiet hours are NOT enforced at all. The site next to us was screaming for hours and blaring music. Nobody to call in the office to help. Overall not impressed, could use some improving.

You can definitely tell everything was made from the 1950s and only touched by hundreds of thousands of customers to grime it all up. Employees have yet to touch anything but the computer screen in front of them at the office or the golf carts they are constantly wizzing by on.
You’d be hard pressed to find things older, more broken, more dirty, more unhelpful staff in any other site in America. Such a disappointment.
We are seasoned campers of 17+ years. As I write we are month three into an extended camp trip around the states but we have camped everywhere from French “aires” to American “Walmarts.” This officially is the worst campground we have ever sadly had the privilege of staying at.
If you do stay here, I suggest you byob - bring your own bathroom. You’ll be hard pressed to find a non broken one let alone one that also isn’t covered in fecal matter here.
We spent a week here and the bathrooms were never once cleaned. Staff sometimes would come every other day or so to empty the large trash can or refill the soap dispenser. I watched in the women’s bathroom the small trash cans for women’s “time of the month” slowly fill up for a week with period products and dirty diapers without being emptied. Talk about a literal bloody biohazard. The flies… omg the flies…
On the plus side, you don’t have far to go to buy meth. In our case it was the campsite next over. Pity for us that it’s not our thing and would preferably like to keep our children away from such things.

Sherwood Forest has a nice pool and is in close proximity to the downtown Wisconsin Dells area. Unfortunately that's about all we really enjoyed about this place. We were here over the 4th of July weekend. We expected the place to be packed, but it was just an uncomfortable place to be. At times this place resembled a tent city. The roads to our campsite were very narrow, many campsites had multiple vehicles parked, and there didn't seem to be much care as to where people parked. It was pretty chaotic. Our neighbors were smoking weed, which was annoying and happened at just about any time of the day. The campsite itself was very small and difficult to get into, even though it was a pull-through. On our 21 day trip, this was the only place where we made a concerted effort to get out early (7:30am) just so we didn't have to deal with what potentially could be a rush of people leaving the park on a Sunday morning. We won't be back again.
