Shepherd Family Cabins & RV Campground

Do not stay here! Rented a full sized RV/trailer. Arrived 6:30 PM after an 8.5 hour trip to no AC or lights. We were told we must be very uncomfortable. What? We were then told they were 3 hours away and could not come repair issues. Several open and available accommodations (which would have been upgraded) but only offered a huge downgrade, in their words, “ the large cabin’s basement which is old, un-remodeled, with AC, bunk beds, a TV, and a bathroom.” At no discount! No place to cook, no porch no sitting area and the only ability to cook was on the grill located in the common area in the dark, outside in the 100 degree temps with biting flies. No pots, pans, utensils, etc as were supposed to be in the RV. We planned spaghetti, jambalaya, eggs, bacon, pancakes. Hard to cook these items on a grill. In the end we refused the old basement and they turned us away at 10:30 PM in the middle of nowhere with no place to stay and our 8 year old grandson in tow. Absolutely unacceptable. Checked back 3-4 times per day and all but one if their accommodations remained unoccupied. Shame on them for valuing money over people.
