“Great campground and park”

Reviewed Jun 12, 2018

Overall Rating

We think the reservable but not site specific sites (1-18) were a little better than the site specific reservable ones, but all the sites were very large with good privacy. 50 amp service was welcome since we were there on 2 hot days. Trails in the park were great. Only regret was that there was absolutely no cell signal.

“Perfect Location for our Trip”

Reviewed May 21, 2018

This campground is beautiful and clean. The sites are pretty spacious and well maintained. The pads are gravel, and all of the campsites contain a picnic table and a fire ring. Our site was very leveled and we really had no complaints! The location of this campground was pretty ideal for us because of its closeness to Shenandoah... more

“Nice gem just outside of Northern Virginia”

Came here in Feb and there were only a couple of RVs around. It's a great park with many hiking trails (see photo). It's quite and very secluded and like others, we did not get any cell reception (even with our WeBoost). We stopped at the Visitor center on one hike and discovered that they have WiFi if you really need to check you... more

“Nice campground on the beautiful Shenandoah River with lots of trails nearby”

Reviewed Dec 04, 2017

We've camped here before - back in the middle of a heat wave in July. This time was very different and we were glad to have electric hookups to run our little ceramic heater. Due to the time of year, we had the campground mostly to ourselves. What we like about this place is it is near Skyline Drive which we love and off which we can h... more

“Spacious sites with W/E next to Shenandoah NP”

Reviewed Aug 15, 2017

Overall Rating

Beautiful Virginia State Park near Interstate 81 and Shenandoah National Park. Good mix of large pull-through sites and back-ins. Our site was near clean restrooms with large showers and 2 washers and dryers. Had some over air TV available as well.

Expensive, $46.00 rate was $5.00 higher due to non-resident premium.
