A beautiful small state park. Around 30th sites, well spaced, gravel and appear to be level. Ours was. The trails were nice and lots of access to the river. We also did laundry, cheapest around! (.75 to wash and .75 to dry!). Overall, a great park.

Most spots are equally nice. Some on outside of loop have direct trail access. Clean bathhouse, dumpster is at the top of the hill but not too far. Definitely a good spot to set up and stay a while or use it as a base camp for exploring the area. There is a nice little visitor center with some good activities in the park. Be sure to check out the view from the overlook. Definitely worth a visit!

This campground has no river or valley views, but the sites are well-maintained, well-spaced, and level. It was peaceful and quiet, and pretty small. We did not have a chance to explore the park, but it is a lovely area, and we would definitely come back to spend more time.

Our site was level crushed stone, which kept mud to a minimum, and had a newer picnic table and fire ring. Firewood was easily accessible via the camp host at a site close to ours. The sites are tiered, adding additional privacy. Various trails also radiate from the campground.
On-site water and shore power were just fine, as was the nearby dump station Staff was universally friendly Highly recommend!

We love the Shenandoah Valley and enjoyed our two weeks here. The campground spots were well-spaced and we felt like we had a good amount of privacy, even without leaves on the trees and bushes. Lots of hike options directly from the campground, either along the river or up the ridge. The campground is about 15 minutes from Front Royal and 30 minutes from Winchester.
The nightly price was a little high considering there aren’t sewer hookups at the sites.
We didn’t realize until we’d arrived that Verizon has zero service at the campground - so plan ahead if that’s your only service! There is WiFi available at the Visitor Center (which was open 9am-4pm while we were there), and the WiFi password is visible through the glass if you don’t want to go in.
The bathhouse is a little dated and the showers are separate closets along the back of the building. Laundry facilities are also in the bathhouse and are $0.75 each (two washers and two dryers, and the laundry room also has an industrial size sink).

Nice campground but spaces are tightly packed and yurt and cabin sites break up what little privacy there might be.
Great access steps away to hiking along the river is fantastic and the setting is very nice.
Lack of any WiFi or Verizon service made this a challenging place to work from.

Ditto to everything said prior. I would add that the lower the site number the higher the elevation. Host from Richmond was fabulous. Boardering about the most I pay but very pleasant. Very reliable T-mobile allowed for me to stream and get work done. Front Royal one of the cheaper places to fill with gas (today).
