“Very Good Place To Boondock Overnight”

We shred this spot with about five others overnight. Far enough off the highway to be quiet and a little isolated, but close enough to make it very convenient. The slope is gentle, but we did have to look around a bit to level things up. 1-2 bars Verizon was enough to stream a movie. Will keep this place in mind for next time.

Arrived after dark Saturday, Oct. 28. Left before dawn in the morning. Needed a place to rest after the after Tremonton to Spanish Fork I-15 white knuckle road race and this was perfect. Pulled in, went to bed, and pulled out. Half dozen other rigs there. Lots of room. It is a big sloping hillside but there are flat-ish spots. Looked like some folks were settled in for a while.
The turn off is near mile marker 195 on Hwy 6 about 20 miles SE of Spanish Fork. There is a brown Sheep Creek sign on Hwy 6 indicating the turn is coming up, and there is a left turn lane. It's only a half mile up the paved Sheep Creek road to the well marked turn into the camping area.
Did not check cell service. Only 4 stars because this is not our idea of a destination. It is perfect for what we needed and I expect to stay there often, overnight, in the years to come.

This place is good for a day, but that’s about it. The road next to the camping area is surprisingly busy, there is also a train nearby that is pretty loud. Maybe the other reviewers had boosters because I only had one bar of Verizon service that sometimes was enough to use data. The camping area is fenced in, so you are kind of right up on everyone. There are one or two campers here that look like they have been here long enough to start getting mail. We had planned to stay a few days, but moved on after one night. It’s not really a wilderness experience, but it’s good for a rest after getting through SLC.

We stayed there two nights, one night going and one night coming back.
Difficult to find a level spot but we did. There were two camp trailers that had obviously been there past the 14 day limit as there were notices on their doors.
Short distance from hwy 6. It’s a great place for overnight, it felt safe.

The dispersed camping area pretty much fills up overnight, with 7 or 8 of us staying longer. There were a few day users as well. The entire area was clean and free of trash. The sites are a little wonky, but we were able to get level. While the CG is far enough from US 6 to not be bothered with road noise, Sheep Creek Rd sees a lot of traffic and hence a fair bit of road noise.
AT&T coverage was quite good, with 3 bars of 5G and speeds up to 16 MB/s.

I arrived on a Tuesday and there were only 3 other people in the area. It’s really just a big field with some fire pits. For car/tent camping: the downside is you have to hike to find someone out of view to do your business…Everyone was friendly though and there was a great evening storm. I would definitely stay again.

It’s probably better the further you go Into the forest.
The place that’s listed is the first place off the highway.
Don’t be there if rain is on the way. The place will turn into a huge mud bog. It’s of for a quick over night stay.
But hey. At least it’s not Salt Lake City. It’s like Oakland CA with snow.

Verizon service was awful and spotty. The more that came in, the worse it was. I have no idea where people are saying 3 bars for service unless they had a booster.
It is anything but level here so be prepared. It is clay soil so it gets gummy if it rains.
It has assorted trash that people can't seem to take with them. Cows made a visit but didn't bother anyone. We moved them along out of the area.
