Shady Lake Campground

Easy pmt slot n loop A was empty so we stayed n A1. Beautiful spot to c the lake, sunrise n c 3 otters playing n the water! Dry toilets near but no water n Nov. 30’ RV no problem here.

Shady lake is a great place for a getaway with the kids. Have been back several times. The park is made up of 4 camp loops, loops A and B are more for RV camping, while C and D are for tent camping. There are bathhouses on each loop. Loop C offers scenic views of the river. The Shady lake loop trail is appx 3 miles and easy enough for kids to complete. There is also an interpretive trail with lots of fun facts along the way. This is also the starting point for the Tall Pines trail up to a look out point. It is moderately difficult and due to our party have small kids, we were unable to complete it. The river is gorgeous with clear cold water year round and the kids had a blast playing in it all day. The campgrounds are neat and clean, with sites spaced far enough apart that you certainly don't feel cramped. Im rating this as no cell service, but there is one point that I was able to get a couple bars out on the road into the camp ground. It's where the road winds and offers a nice view of the lake.
